crowds & flower and garden

How do crowds at flower & garden compare crowds at food & wine? We enjoyed food and wine last year, but it got a little crazy as the evening wore on.

We only did Food and Wine once and made the mistake of doing it Jersey week. We are going back the third year in a row for Flower and Garden. I don't find the crowds to be bad at all. But Easter and some spring breaks fall in that timeframe and we wait until after all that to go.

The Spring Break weeks throughout March and end of April are busier in general, they just happen to coincide with the Flower and Garden festival.

Late April/Early May is the best time to get in on that. After Spring Breaks, before Summer/End of Fest. Went the last week of April/first of May in '13 and it was beautiful and not very busy.

Weekends can be a bit tough, weekdays not so much.

It definitely gets more crowded around WS in the evening during Flower and Garden and on the weekends.

But, I think WS is like that all the time.

I've been during F&G three or four times now and I would say it was definitely more crowded in evenings when they added the food booths!! Unfortunately, I can't say how it compares to F&W.

But, I have an almost 7 year old (5 last trip) and I avoid avoid WS on weekend evenings with him. It's just too crowded for him.

I was there the first week in April for F&G and the middle of Sept. for the first few days of F&W and really couldn't tell the difference in the crowds for the two. Both stays did include a weekend but I only went to Epcot during the week so that may have made a difference. There were crowds but it was manageable, especially since there was the usual rain and everyone disappears during it so it was like having the place to myself.

I have been the last 4 years to both F&W and F&G. In general F&G is less crowded, but you will find hoards of school groups on Fridays and Saturdays. As PPers have said, stay far, far away until the end of April to try to avoid spring break crowds. While I love the food kiosks, they are morphing the F&G atmosphere to be more and more like F&W so the crowds and the crowd behavior is changing as well. I heard one former CM call it "Drunks & Dirt."
