My DH and I recently purchased 200 points @ SSR in March 2005. We are not scheduled to vacation as actual members until March 2006. I am so excited especially after reading all of the wonderful info provided on this forum.

My question is :
Prior to joining DVC, I had already reserved a room at POFQ for the week of Thanksgiving so we are staying there. Are the rooms nice at POFQ? Also, is it REALLY crowded the week of Thanksgiving? We will be arriving November 19th and leaving on the 26th.

Thanks for you help :wave2:

Welcome Home.

My family has stayed at POFQ several times and we love it there.

I have never been to WDW during Thanksgiving week but I understand that it is very crowded.

I know that when I called MS the other day about our reservation that week, she said that everything in DVC was full, including OKW (where we're staying. And traditionally, OKW is the last DVC resort to fill up.

We have been down at Disney three times at Thanksgiving (and are making this one our fourth), and, yes; it is crowded. Since we have done this before, we figure out what is at the top of our list to do and figure out when we are going to do things. We have typically avoided Magic Kingdom Thanksgiving Day as we feel that is the most crowded park. Even though it is very crowded at that time of year, it really gets us in the holiday spirit as the parks and resorts are magically transformed from everyday decor to holiday splendor. If you can work it out at all, try to see the Candlelight Processional in the American Gardens at Epcot. We have seen it each time and each time I end up being moved to tears. The story of Christ is told by a guest narrator and there is a 400 member choir that sings the story accompannied by a 75 piece orchestra. You can PS by buying a dinner package. They reserve sections for PS ressies, otherwise people have been known to stand in line for hours to get a seat.

The only time I could think of more to be at Disney would be Christmas,(and I understand that is the busiest week of the year)but I am not ready to give up Christmas at home with my family and yes; snow and cold temperatures.

You will love it there--make sure to visit the resorts as they are also beautifully decorated.

Good Luck! :flower:

Thanks so much for the information. I have never seen the Candlelight Processional but would be very interested in doing so. :goodvibes
I will plan on doing this Friday before we leave to go home !!!! :flower:

Thanks again ! :wave2:

I'll be home (VWL) the 19th - 25th. As of now, my plan is to visit parks Sunday-Wednesday and spend Thanksgiving relaxing and eating dinner. I have a friend that went last year and said it wasn't too bad crowd wise until the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Can't wait!
