Crowds during Star Wars Weekend

Planning on going to MGM for the Star Wars Weekend for the first time this year. I know its going to be busy, but wanted to get an idea of how busy. Are the crowds as bad as during New Years? Also is there a better day to go Fri / sat or Sunday. Is the whole park busy or only the areas with Star Wars activity. Lastly is there any diffrence in the crowds during the diffrent weekends.

Hi good question! We too are going to MGM for Star Wars weekends! We were not planning on an MGM trip this time but decided to b/c of Star Wars. We will be going on Sunday. I was planning on it being very busy! We went last year for New Years so hopefully not that busy!

We went last year and I didn't think it was that bad. Only slightly busier than any other day at MGM.

We went last June to MGM on the last Friday they had Star Wars Weekends (June 10th). It was our first time at MGM so we really do not have anything to compare it to. We didn't think it was that crowded. The crowds were the same at MK and Epcot. I'll attach a pic. of the parade that day so maybe you can get an idea of the crowd.

DH & I were there last May for Star Wars weekend. We went on Sunday. I thought it was crowded....more so where all the Star Wars stuff is...like Star Tours and the gift shop after the ride. That shop was VERY busy!!!! The line was soooooo long and we waited in it to get my brother some stuff since he is a HUGE Star Wars fan. The rest of the park wasn't that bad at all. Also, there were all kinds of characters that had lines to get autographs. We stood in most of them and they weren't too bad. The only one that was crazy long was for Darth Vadar. Fortunately, he is inside a building so once you get in there, it's air conditioned .

Don't worry about the crowds....it's all part of the fun
