Hi there! I am planning to take a belated honeymoon from February 11-16. My husband and I haven't been to disney since we got engaged there in Feb 2000. When we went, the crowds were not bad at all. Is this still true? I know it is President's Day weekend and all but I was hoping it isn't too bad. Would apreciate all of your help on this one. Also, we are scheduled to stay at the Liki Tiki resort, courtesy of a timeshare promotion. Has anybody had any experiences, good or bad, with this place?:Pinkbounc pirate:

I think you are going to find, at least the end of your vacation to be a very very busy time at Disney. For most of us here in the northeast, that is school vacation (Feb 16 - 20..and most people going to Disney leave on the 13th pr 14th for Disney) and it's called presidents week. Other schools have the week leading up to presidents week off according to other boards I'm on..but the bulk seems to be the dates I mentioned. Many parents have a long weekend, so they'll be weekenders there also. You might want to get all your park time in before they descend.

Wow, good luck. I was planning a last minute vacation for that time due to having to wait for dh work schedule and we cant get any flights down from the ny metro area for the whole week that dont involve blowing the whole day with stopovers, transfers etc. and at a horrible price no less. We have checked the major carriers like jet blue, delta, american and southwest and disney only seems to have room at akl in the deluxe category, so I would say it will be VERY busy. We have gone during this time before and saw lots of people from our area at the Poly, so be prepared. Hope they dont come with lots of germs, etc. too. Good luck. Bring lots of patience., get fastpass and priority seating for any place special you want to eat.

I agree with DMRick, the crowds will increase the afternoon of the 13th and the parks will be very crowded right through President's Day the 16th. After that things simmer down a bit. ~:D~

we made our trip the first week of february due to the increasing crowds following that week.....i have heard as long as you are in before presidents weekend you are good......i agree ...there at the end of your visit you will find that it is getting pretty busy but hey who cares..your in disney world!!!..have a great time!!!

:Pinkbounc :jester: Hi. Definately do the Park thing at beginning of trip. Not only is this President Day Weekend it is also Daytona 500 on Sunday. So crowds will be lightest on 11-12-13.

As for Liki Tiki. Stayed at it three years ago. It is a smaller resort with a little water park that has a wave pool, volcano fountains, small water slides. Also has other pools. Has unique wading pool with Octupus swing in it for toddlers. They also had water bikes and paddle boats but the water was to low that year to use. Not sure if they still have. Ship wreck sally had a good steak BBQ one night. We enjoyed it. Quieter than OLCC, Vistania etc. with less amenities but as I say we enjoyed. Would go again. I go every year for entire month of Feb
