crowds @ DL this week/ weekend?

We are taking my cousin (10yrs old) to Disneyland for the 1st time as a birthday present from his parents.

( My Uncle has severe motion sickness and cant go.)


We have annual passes and but we have never gone to DL in August. We ( plus 7 members of my family) took my son to DL July 24th for his 1st birthday. The crowds were light in the morning but around 4-5pm it was PACKED! A big family, a baby in the stroller and the heat was horrible! It got worst at night during the shows and trying to get out of the park to the parking structure.

Lucky on Friday its only going to be my Hubby, cousin and me.


I was wondering is it going be to as pack this Friday as last month????

It probably will be. It's been really crowded this month and this past week.

We were just there Monday and Tuesday and the crowds felt about the same and the line waits were about the same as the other two times we went this summer. The only differences I noted was that it seemed noticeably less busy in the early hours (8am to 10am) and a little busier in the post-fireworks hours than it was on our other two trips (we got in line for Peter Pan at 11:50pm and it was still a 20 minute wait... that's about 5-8 mins more than usual at that time).

Have you read Hydroguy's tips for doing DL during the high season? You can avoid the crowds if you're willing to go early with a plan. Since you're an AP, you probably know all about the parks, but it's kind of amazing how much more you can do, even on a busy day, without having to wait in lines for more than 15 minutes.
