Crowds August 19-22?

Any insight into how bust these dates might be? Are kids in So Cal back in school yet?

A lot of schools start that week, but plenty don't. We were there then last year and it was very crowded. I think people traveling in from out of town wait until then hoping much of so cal are back in school. But hey go when you can! This year is going to be more crowded no matter what because of the 60th.

Yeah, the husband has training in LA Mon-Wed, trying to figure out if we can justify the expense. If it's expected to be crazy I think we'll wait, seeing as the kiddoos are 31/2 and 1, and we were just there in December. I'm dying to go back, but man oh man, ticket prices are CRAZY!

A lot of the area schools start back that week but it's also the first week of AP block being lifted so I imagine during the week won't be too awful but the weekends will be quite busy. We arrive on the 22nd but first day in the park is the 23rd. I put a lot of thought into our dates this year. We usually go in Oct and it's just become increasingly busy unlike the days when we would wait 20 min max for a ride so we decided to change it up this year and avoid taking kids out of school. During my time on the boards last year before our Oct trip I saw several people reporting very reasonable crowds later in Aug so hopefully that will be the case! Figment has a helpful thread going that's tracking major events and school breaks so that was nice to see if anything "big" is happening.
