:wave2: Hello everyone,

I would have searched for this topic, but "search" was disabled. My wife and another couple are in the early stages for our next WDW Adventure. We (I) have only been in May:teeth:, but July is the only option for next year:eek: . Would you include the Fourth in your plans or avoid it all together? There is a part of all of us that would love to enjoy such a special day in Disney, but the crowd questions are very concerning. We would definately be at the Magic Kingdom or Epcot (probably MK::yes:: ) Thanks for your help

Welcome to the DIS, jocon.

I imagine the 4th of July would be very crowded but I've never toured during that time so I am going to bump this back to page one for you so that some of our veterans can offer advice on this topic.

My daughter and I were in the MK on the 4th of July last year - and it was bursting at the seams. We decided to leave an hour or so early, and it took us forever to get out, such was the crowd. However, I would do it again. Just make sure you have your PS arrangements in place and if you buy anything carry it with you, or else, as happened to us, after negotiating one of the biggest crowds I have ever seen, we were then faced with a horrendous queue to collect our purchases. I would say go, the atmosphere was wonderful - and anyway the MK is fully of magic. I hope you have a wonderful and happy trip.

Does anyone know about the crowds the last week of June? We are leaving WDW on July 2nd. Will we be affected by people arriving for the 4th? :D

We went June 28 to July 3 this summer. Our last day in the parks was on July 2nd. I did notice that MGM was much busier that day, but we did do MK that night and didn't have any problem getting on rides during Spectro. We had done that earlier in the week.

Definitely get to the parks EARLY, right at opening and we utilized fastpass. I didn't think the crowds were that bad until after lunch. We also took a mid day break, as we were staying at the Dolphin and had little ones. I would recommend that just because of the heat, and the crowds are much worse. It also tended to rain a little bit in the late afternoon.

One nice thing right before the Fourth is that the parks start staying open longer and everything is running at full capacity. We didn't have any problem getting a bus or boat at the Dolphin. Now in 2004 July 4th is on Sunday, so hopefully the crowds won't start getting bad until July 2nd.

We've been to WDW several times during the 4th of July and love it. It is extra special - the fireworks experience at MK for the 4th is terrific - at times the fireworks surround the crowd. Yes, the crowds are large, but manageable - the big crowd actually adds to the fun! My opinion is go and enjoy the 4th at MK.

We go every year over the 4th (except this year because of fiance's golf tournament...). For an 11 day stay, it's fine. On the 4th, we avoid the parks and go to Downtown Disney, eat dinner at Narcoossee's and view the MK fireworks from the restaurant's veranda, then fight our way into the MK. If you're going for a shorter period of time and can't lose a day, you may be disappointed. The MK often reaches capacity in the morning and only resort guests are permitted inside the park. If you're planning on staying on site, you will still be able to enter, but, in my fiance's famous words, would you want to?

July 4th is traditionally a frustrating day for guests who want to experience as many attractions as possible. But, the entertainment and fireworks are first rate, plus the MK stays open until midnight (I remember when it was 2:00am). If you're able to add an extra day for touring, you won't regret going during this time. It really depends on the length of your stay. Go to the MK later in the evening on the 4th. It really clears out after the fireworks. By the way, the best place to watch the fireworks is from outside of the MK on the 4th. Good luck and enjoy your trip!

Thank you for your help guys! We are considering the Hotel Royal Plaza. Does this rank as "on property" in terms of getting in the MK at full capacity? Out of MK and Epcot, which park has the better display for The Fourth? When would you book for this trip?

:bounce: Getting excited just thinking about it!

I don't know that hotel, but I don't think it's a resort hotel. Also, be aware, it's possible to be shut out of any park even if you are a resort guest - there are several levels of "capacity", and the last level is closed to everyone including resort guests.

I humbly disagree with Cinderella37, the best place to watch the fireworks on the 4th is from inside MK - it's the only way you will be surrounded by them, and it's spectacular.

MK has the better show.

Book by February 1.

Have FUN !!
