We are planning a trip for April 8-14 (not booked yet), and the crowd calendar I had originally looked at (don't remember which one) said that week would be low crowds. Now the Undercover Tourist crowd calendar says 8/10 and 7/10 for that week. I have checked a few different ones and the predictions are kind of all over the place. I know crowd levels have become very hard to predict, but does anyone know if any school districts are still on spring break April 9-13? We're hoping all the spring break crowds will be leaving on the 8th. Would crowds be significantly lower April 15-20? There is a slight chance we could make that week work. Because of work and school schedules the only other time we could go is the 2nd week in June.

Thanks in advance for any input!

The closer you are to Easter, the busier it will be. The 2nd week of June will be less busy, but hotter and more humid.

Pick your poison.

The humongous Easter crowds will be gone by then, but you may still be dealing with some lingering west coast spring breakers. The 15th-20th would be safer.

Many New England Spring Breaks are April 15-20…....not sure how it will compare to the week before.

With an early Easter I think you are better off with your April dates. By June many schools are on break, and the weather is definitely hotter and more humid. I agree the later you plan in April the better.

We went this past April a week after Easter. (Easter was April 16th and we arrived on April 23.) by that point, the crowds were quite manageable and kept reducing as the week went on. Higher predictions must be for something else, as others have said, like spring break or something. The weather was really nice in April too.

We will be there the 17-24. New England school breaks are either the week of the 16 or 23 depending on the state and the Star Wars Run Disney race weekend is the 20-22. I think you are probably better with what you had planned.

Our crowd predictions also went up for our trip a week or two ago...from the low mid range (4/5) to the high (6/7), but I'm sure we have a smart touring plan and will do our best.

That’s the week we are going. I was booked the week after and then saw that more spring breaks and the marathon was that week and moved it to the 8th. ADRS were wide open that week and still are. I changed all of our ADRs from 6 to 8 just last month when my parents decided to join us. Also DVC availability was much better this week than all the other weeks in April. I’m pretty confident it will be a decent week. Busy-yes, but much better weather than June.

Yes - the April weather is generally SOO much better than June!!

It could be that with how much busier December ended up being than predicted, that they are expecting the trend to continue. With the economy the way it is, I wouldn't be surprised. We were really stunned on our December trip how many parents had pulled their kids out of school to go, we saw tons of school aged kids there Dec. 6th-16th.

Agree. For me the weather in April would be worth possibly waiting in longer queues. Have a good touring plan and it will make a world of difference.

Interesting thoughts on the economy and crowd trends. Wonder what if Disney will be offering fewer incentives in 2018 with the stronger economy. That could in turn help drive crowds down.
