Crowds and Hours this week (March 8-12)

How have the crowds been this week? My guess would be busy.

I am not at DL this week. I find it odd that DL hours are only 9am-8pm this week, even though it is the first week of Spring Break. Usually the first week of Spring Break (yes I know it spans 6 weeks) has hours of 9am-11pm.

Is DL closing at 8pm this week in order to save costs, even though the first wave of the Spring Break crowd has arrived?

Your thoughts?

I was there last wek and it was wonderful. No crowds, no wait. I wouldn't expect it to be too busy yet. The closer to Easter it gets the worse it gets.

We were there on Tuesday March 9th and the crowds weren't that bad. It was a nice sunny day and still not too bad at all. We were disappointed the parks closed early! And CA was only open from 10-6! So going between the two you had to plan carefully on what you wanted to do due to the time. But still, a good time, we got a lot done due to the lower crowd!

We just got home last night. We were in the parks from Sunday the 7th until Thursday the 11th. It was slightly crowded, but not bad AT ALL. Many rides never had more than a 10 minute wait. Space mountain got up to 55 minutes one night, but that was the longest wait time I saw all week. The longest line we waited in was for TSMM-45 minutes.

I was expecting Sunday to be the busiest, so we exchanged one of our GAD GAD vouchers for the special fastpass exchange card that day. We ended up not even needing our special fastpasses. I think it was because of the sporadic rain, but I didn't see a line longer than 20 minutes all day. The wait for Indy in the middle of the afternoon was only 20 minutes; the standby line was right to where the fastpass line joins it. All in all, it was a WONDERFUL week to be in the parks!

This is typical. High season spring break hours usually do not kick in until mid-March and last thru mid-Aril. Hope you have a good trip!

We're heading to DLR this week, 17th-19th. Expecting large crowds but know how to handle it and avoid long lines and see everything we want.

Crowds don't bother me for long lines and waits as I'm well adjusted to know how to plan and schedule to avoid waits. What really gets me is the massive traffic jams. HORRIBLE through frontierland before Fantasmic, or massive through Tomorrowland in the evenings. DCA is bad because of the construction partition walls making walkways very narrow and crowded.

My mom and I went on the 13th, it was horrific. I did not see a line shorter than 55 minutes. I wonder if weekdays even during spring break are just a little easier hhmmm.....

Sorry to be off topic, but what is a special fastpast exchange card?

Thanks!

It is one of the options you can get when you do the "Give A Day, Get A Day" promotion. Due to the current promo (adults at kids' prices), we wouldn't have saved any money by upgrading our free day. The other options are the special fastpass exchange card and the Mickey souvenir ear hat figurine. I opted for the fastpasses, and the rest of the family used their vouchers for the souvenir figurine. (Which, by the way, is VERY cute and much larger than I expected!)
