Crowds 12/7-12/14? No Resorts Avail

Hi All,
We're headed down 12/7-12/14 as part of a Grand Gathering. Had some additional folks who thought about joining us at the last minute so I was checking on room availability. So far, I've found NOTHING. NADA. ZIP. I even tried playing with the dates a little (ie: partial stay, split stay, etc.).

I knew the restaurants were going to be busy because we haven't been able to change any ADRs in a couple of months but I wasn't too worried about the parks UNTIL NOW.

I've looked on WDW site, expedia and orbitz. No one has anything (except Swan for $289/night).

Should we be worried about crowds at the parks? We were thinking Pop Warner would be leaving and I had read that Mousefest was that big of a draw--maybe a couple thousand folks. I get a bit claustrophobic in crowds. Do you think it's going to be mobbed?

We've never been unable to find availability, even during the more busy times of the year. What do you think?

We went last year Nov 29-Dec 6, The last few days of our trip overlapped with Pop Warner. We had no problem with huge crowds at the parks. PW does fill the hotels, but much of their time is spent at competitions.

It looks like the beginning part of your trip will overlap with PW. Have you tried booking with Dec 10 as the start date (maybe some of those last minute people could stay Dec 10-14), there should be some availability after PW is done.

Me and dh have been down a few times this week in dec. We really never had a problem w/ crowds. Is does get a little more crowded on weekends with the locals though. I love going this second week of Dec. We leave dec 7th , can't wait!
