Crowds 12/29-1/04

I'm in the area right now until Jan. 4th. I know there are hellish crowds this time of year, so is it worth visiting USF? Which would be the best day to go? New Years Day or the days following?

Go after New Year's. Crowds tend to die down then. However, the best time to avoid crowds (holidays or otherwise) is to arrive early right at opening.
