My friend and I will be visiting DW this Columbus Day weekend, Oct. 10-13. We will arrive about 11am, and head straight to Epcot, hitting booths. Then, we are going to MNSSHP that night. This is our first time going to F&W festival, and we are a little worried about crowds. Is Sunday less crowded than Saturday? I have never seen Illuminations before so that is a must. We mostly want to explore pavilions, booths, and just take in all the sights.

Also, for a few days we will be visiting HS has EMH at 8am. Doubt we will be at parks that early, but I am wondering how much more crowded HS will be for the rest of the day?

Please help...

Mid october can have big crowds, larger than you can expect actually.

If you're looking to mostly enjoy the atmosphere of the festival, you'll be fine.

Just get ready to see a lot of people!

In general, people advise to avoid EMH parks if you're not going to be there during the time to get the benefit, otherwise you have higher crowds and no perks. But if you don't have much choice, don't stress! October is a "moderate minus" time of year for crowds so it shouldn't be too bad. I haven't been at F&W on a weekend, but I hear it can get VERY crowded. Saturdays the highest crowds Fri evening and Sunday somewhat lower.

Thank you for your advice. Looks like we will be going to Epcot on Sunday instead of Saturday. :yay:

Food and Wine on Saturday's tend to attract the locals and sometimes can become quite rowdy and sometimes downright unpleasant, especially in the evenings. I would definitely pick Sunday. We are local and NEVER go to F&W on Saturdays unless we have guests who want to go.

Food and Wine on any weekend is busy due to locals. Food and Wine during the holiday weekend will be busies and stay busy. Sunday will be a bit less, but it will still be quite a bit busier then a weekday would be.

F&W will be pretty busy over the holiday weekend as you will get the locals, vacationers trying to use the holiday for school vacations and such. Sundays are usually not as busy, but with Monday being a non work day who knows. World Showcase can hold a lot of people so it will be manageable, but expect lines.

Since you are exploring, just go in with realistic expectations and you'll have a great time. We love F&W. We do usually go during the week though.

Columbus Day weekend, I'm pretty sure Sunday will be just as crowded as Saturday. If you could, defer Epcot until Monday. Mondays are generally the best day, crowd-wise, to visit Epcot.

We will be going to Epcot all day Sunday, and are trying to decide now if we should go to Epcot Friday when we arrive about 12-4. (MNSSHP THAT NIGHT), or go to Epcot Monday from 9-3pm. Whichever time we don't go to Epcot we will go to MK. Do you think it would be better to go to Epcot on Friday or Monday?

I would go on Monday
