Crowd Pictures

For those lucky enough to go early Sept...this is for you! Lack of crowd photos. :thumbsup2

What I wouldn't give for another trip like this one...Sept 6-10th 2008. PERFECT!

Thanks... we are going Labor Day weekend this year... we've been in mid-September when it looked like that but we were dreading what the holiday weekend may be like!

We have been Labor Day weekend for a few years in a row - it always eases up starting on Labor Day (we stay the whole week) - at least it has in the past. It is still a fun week!

Those 9/6-9/10 pictures made my day! We will be there 9/6-9/13 (arriving Sunday afternoon before Labor Day). I'm figuring Sunday and Monday to be pretty crowded, but the rest of the week to be low. I would love, love, love to see crowds (or lack thereof) like that! Did you find the whole day to be like that, even afternoons and evenings? And did you go to the "best" parks (according to touringplans or TGM) or just whatever one struck your fancy? Trying to decide how militant I need to be about going to the best parks in a low crowd time!

Labor Day at Disneyland was complete nightmare. It might be a little better in DW. But mid-September in DW is fantastic!!

Went through my pics from Sept. 13th-20th last year... here's to hoping it will be like this again this year! :thumbsup2

After seeing pic from Easter Week last year I feel so much better! It was crowded but not crazy OMG crowded. I think we'll be ok!!!

You will love it!

We went in May last year, and it wasn't too bad, but it was more crowded when we went (the week after you). We are going this year the same week as well.

We walked on a lot. The only waits I remember are Peter Pan, Splash, BTMRR, and Soarin. Test Track and EE wasn't too bad, I think the line say 40 mins but either there's so much to look at, or it really wasn't 40 minutes.
And for PP and BTMRR we got FPs.

We based our plans around the ressies I was able to get each day. I've never paod for any of the touring plans type things...I also didn't stick to the rule of avoiding EMH. If I could get a ressie for Tusker House breakfast..well that's the day we did Ak..we had a CP breakfast one morning so we did MK that day...and so on. We also did the MNSSHP and it was a GHOST TOWN. I have so many photos of just nothingness.

I'd say it was always dead. That crowd at the castle was about as populated as it ever was, and that was probably 3pm or so. We literally did everything...things I'd never seen in several trips. We could criss cross all over the park however we so chose and we did that the whole trip.

Fastpass machines were almost always covered with tarps and not in use, the lines were chained off sop instead of zig zagging you just went straight through. We got on most rides as fast as we could walk up the ques!! I think our longest wait was Dumbo...maybe 10 minutes. And we rode it a few times...only the 10 minute wait happened once. During the MNSSHP you didn't even have to get OFF rides. The ride would stop and they'd announce "if you'd like to exit the ride, please do so now. If you'd like to continue, please stay seated." We waited about 10 minutes to see Mickey during the party...that was our longest wait that night. You could also easily watch the parade from just about anywhere without saving a seat in advance.

I got spoiled spoiled I tell ya...I know my May trip and any others in the future will be ruined now. :lmao:

We were there from 6/4-11 in 2005. It wasn't too busy like early August or the first week of the new year. But it wasn't slow either like the end Sept/early Oct or mid December.

Most of my pics were just of my family so I didn't have too many of the crowds. However, here's a few from Epcot on 6/5/05. The first 2 are shortly after opening and the last one is mid afternoon.

With the success of Disney's 4/3 deal, I am afraid our week in June is gonna look more like those Spring Break pics than the old '05 June pics. Sorry dude, but I think we hafta wake up and face reality. Plan for crowd levels of at least 8s on Unofficial Guide's touringplans scale.

Are you one of these negetive people who like to rain on peoples parades or do you beleave that your actually right?

I dont think it will be as bad as spring break because DUH its spring break! and the first week of june will be before ALL schools are out. I am sure itll be a little more than those pics but you cannot convince me that it will be like spring break! also the 3/4 deal is not really a good deal! We are staying offsite for 250 for 10 days NOW THATS A DEAL! I dont think it will have much of a impact like college students do! I may be wrong but I am sure I am not.

I guess even though it's sweltering hot, September really is a great time to go! We rarely waited for rides the whole trip, used FP and never waiting longer than 15-20 minutes??? If that.

I hope late October is similar(but it doesn't look like it! WAH!)...seems I was spoiled and didn't even know it! :confused3

We'll have to plan for Sept. again in 2010! :D

March 22, 2009 (MK) :

Roped off line for the Speedway attraction around 1:30 pm (line looped around a couple times) :

These photos were taken BEFORE the cheerleaders got there. They arrived around 3 pm and it got a lot worse so we left. Wait times for most rides were 40-90 min (from Pooh to Space and Splash).

Not trying to "rain on peoples parade", but both TGM and UG give all of June a similar rating as they did to Spring Break. The Easter crowds will also be thick.

I know that not all schools are out by the first week of June, but I don't think you should expect parks to look like those pics from the first week of June '05. They're gonna be a lot more crowded. I know there are better hotel deals than the 4/3 that Disney offered, but a lot of families who wanted to stay on Disney property before could do it now with the 4/3 deal. And so they booked. My week in June was booked solid when I tried to change my trip by one day last week before the deal expired. I couldn't change my trip because there was no availability for my week. I know this doesn't mean all the hotels were booked full. I know it means only the rooms available to book under that promotion were booked, but that's still a lot of rooms booked.

Then, you have Space Mountain, which usually gobbles up a large segment of park population by luring them into its ever-increasing line, under rehab. Where are those folks gonna go? Oh, snap! To all the other "thrillers" at MK, making those lines longer. Also down are the less-popular Hall of Presidents and TTA. While not nearly as much of a population gobbler as SM, those folks that would have been in line for them will also be in other lines throughout the park.

I am going expecting both TGM and UG guide to be wrong about their predictions and for it to be more crowded. I am planning my trip as if it will be wall-to-wall people. :scared1: Then, if it's anything less, I can be pleasantly surprised. :rotfl: My last trip was during Mardi Gras '08. Now that's a beautiful time to go! (As long as it doesn't fall on the same week as President's week like it does next year.)

My boss and her family just returned from a week at WDW. She said all of the lines, even the lines for the less popular rides, were packed. She told me to fully expect June to be scorching hot and crowded.
