Crowd photos from inside the parks

I was just coming to the boards to see if anyone had posted photos. Crazy how crowded it is compared to what it was like the times I have been there!

Paying the cost of admission just to wait 7 hours for the fireworks? Yeesh.
Exactly. I wouldn`t be patient enough for that! I would go watch them from the TTC then hop in the car before the rest of the crowd leaves the park! lol!

Can't even imagine! How can you enjoy the experience~ I'm sure lots of rude people, crabby tired kids and those feeling entitled.

I've actually experienced more polite, happy and helpful people during Christmas/New Year's week in those crowds than any other time of year I've travelled. :goodvibes

That’s actually really awesome! I’m sure most people are nice people who only get this one time of year to go!

First of all I love this thread! Ive always heard it was crowded around the holidays, but it's another thing to actually see the pictures.

Wubar, I completely agree with you. I rarely have the patience to camp out just an hour before the fireworks when we go there in the summer. I can't even imagine 7 hours. Yikes!

I'v never been to disney at Christmas but have been at times square NYE. I'm local though. It was packed but a good time. Very energized. Glad I did it once but will not be doing it again.

Goodness gracious, what is the enjoyment in being one in a giant herd of cattle?? And to think people pay extra to be there that time of year?? LOLOLOL

It’s really fun. I would not do it with little kids because it is a loooong day. I have a 2 and 1yo and we won’t do it again for a while.

The Epcot fireworks are incredible. I’ve cried. I will remember ringing in the new year at Epcot for the rest of my life.

It’s really not that bad.
If you get to the park early, rope drop is your friend as usual. You can do a lot of FW first thing without crazy waits. People don’t start streaming in until later. You have your 3 pre-booked FP to your advantage too.

You book a TS lunch, enjoy it, then slowly tour World Showcase all afternoon, exploring and stopping for the films in France, Canada, China, do the American Adventure, etc.

Watch the early fireworks (staking out a spot super early isn’t necessary) then do a late TS dinner after. We never do 2 TS in one day except for NYE. It’s a nice reprieve from the crowd. By the time you’re done with your late TS dinner, it’s time to decide where to watch the late fireworks and head over. We have always found our spot an hour ahead of time, no earlier. We’ve just enjoyed the time with our family and talked about our trip while we waited (and honestly, people wait longer these days in the hub for HEA!)

Watch the late fireworks, then head to TT and Soarin on the way out. There’s a mass exodus after the fireworks and lines aren’t bad. We walked on TT the last time we did it.

It’s a long day but doable if you’re smart about it. We alternate going at slower times (May/Sept) and busier times (NYE/Easter). We have a wonderful time on NYE - just as wonderful as going when it’s slow.

Believe it or not, we’ve experienced more rude guest encounters during slow times than we ever did on NYE.

To each his own...
I live in NOLA. Lots of people come here for Mardi Gras. It’s gotten too crazy for me (which is why we go to Disney for MG every chance we get), but I do understand the thrill in it.
It’s also one of those things that’s cool to say you did - once. lol.

There's fireworks at 6:30 as well. But yea every NYE you have people willing to camp out a spot 7 or more hours in advance

It’s funny, though, because we’ve gone to Epcot for NYE multiple times and staking out spots for the shows so early is so unnecessary. We’ve watched early and late with a long TS in between, not waiting more than an hour in a spot for either one. I think some people just give up on doing anything else.
