Crowd levels Labor Day Weekend

I am curious as to what to expect for crowd levels from 9/1-9/5. We are thinking of making a very last minute trip for a few days and it's the only time that works. I have read some who have said crowd levels thin out because school is in session already. I think because it is a holiday weekend it will be mobbed. Any thoughts anyone? We would arrive Thursday morning and leave on Labor Day. We have been there many, many times. Our last trip was a week in November. Just looking for a quick Disney fix! LOL.

We were there last Labor Day, we came in on Wednesday and stayed until Labor Day, it was so quiet the first two days then the crowds really started to increase, it felt just as busy as spring break time for the weekend there. We stayed at CR and it just seemed so busy by Saturday and the parks were very busy then as well.

The Wednesday when we arrived was so awesome in MK, we walked on everything and we were able to walk around all the lands with our arms spread out and not touch another person, so that was great!

I agree. I was there last year the week before and after Labor Day. On Saturday, I was at AK in morning and MK in the evening, and it was significantly much busier than the days before and after the holiday weekend. EMH at MK on saturday until 2am was awesome and worth dealing with the earlier crowds. Sunday was a rest day for us, Monday at Typhoon Lagoon which was not too bad.

I agree with the posters above. The week before Labor Day is terrific. But the three days of the long weekend get busy.

This will be our second trip for the week before Labor Day, partly because the crowds are so light.

We were there last Labor Day too, from Thursday to Monday. To us, it didn't seem all that crowded. It was busier than it is when we go in June, but nothing close to Thanksgiving or Xmas. I'd definitely go again.

Glad to read this. Had to move out park days from post cruise to pre cruise. So now we go down 8/30 pm and are doing the parks wed, thurs, fri, and board the fantasy Saturday. Sounds like it will be great!

We've gone just about every Labor Day weekend for the past 15 years. It's the holiday weekend my husband and I enjoy the most. You are correct - most schools are back in session (our schools here in this part of Georgia where I live either started two days ago or will start tomorrow) so the roads are a lot clearer and the crowds are lower. It will not be "mobbed" at all.

We also go end of August early September and the crowds to us are manageable and not miserable. We do a waterpark on Monday.

I will set up our bounce back for next Labor Day week when we get there in three weeks.

I am concerned about this too. We have been September before but not during Labor Day weekend. We will come in on Saturday though, and stay until Thursday. My concern is that so many people who might not normally be in Orlando will be coming for the same football game we are coming for. We know people who normally would not be doing Disney this time of year who are planning to just because of this game, and I don't know if it will affect crowds or not. I truly hope it won't. Otherwise, I know the week after Labor Day is normally very slow.

We'll be there Sept 3-10! We never go in September, but usually in mid November. I'll be happy if that week in Sept is even just a little better than what Nov has become. 27 days to go!!!!

We have been at Labor Day a few times, but not in the past couple years. We have always found Labor Day weekend to be fairly crowded- but Monday afternoon the crowds start to clear out and the week following is nice. I think any 3 day weekend will draw more people than a regular weekend, but it isn't as bad as other holiday weekends. Hoping for the same this year!
