I am going from the 4th to the 18th , anyone have any idea of crowd levels during that time? Also i have planned Magic Kingdom for a wednesday, is this the most uncrowded time of the week to visit?

I hear it's packed with us locals. I've never been myself, but the old standby, "arrive early, use fastpass, hit rides during lunchtime, the parades and dinner" is always good advice.
Really, it will be very hot, and we get regular rains throughout August. Perhaps you might work out a strategy using the above advice in addition to using the rain as your friend, by hitting rides while most others are clearing the park due to the weather. With that advice I'd also add the big exception is thunderstorms, which you must take very seriously and seek shelter. Lightening strikes down here frequently without warning and isn't something you want to chance.
I'm subscribing because I'd love to hear from those with experience during this time. Either way I hope you have a great trip!
You generally find in August from the middle of the month onwards the crowds are much lighter - as many of the US schools return.
With your dates in mind I think at least the 1st week will still be quite busy, the plan of getting to the parks early/having a break/return in the evening is usually the best way of avoiding the worst of the crowds & heat.
Magic Kingdom is always generally the busier park, is makes sense to avoid the EMH days (where WDW on-site guests get in the parks an hour earlier).
As I undertstand it at present these are the August EMH days, so you would best advised to avoid these.
Unless you are staying on-site of course.
We were there last year from Aug. 11 - Aug. 19. The crowds weren't too bad. Be prepared for the HEAT Your initial plan may be to go all day long, but the high temps and humidity really sock it to you! You may want to include "down time" during the afternoon. Also, drink LOTS of water!
We found that MK was the most crowded park. The others were very reasonable. Enjoy your trip!
Thanks for all your comments. Im staying offsite so thanks for the extra magic hours info. Now all I have to do is bear the heat, I think I should pack those spray fans
Our last two WDW trips were in August - plan to get to the parks as early as possible, take a break midday, and then stay as late as possible at night, when it's much cooler! of course, you don't get much rest with this plan, but who sleeps at WDW anyways?
You can't stay onsite? I'd really try to get an onsite resort, as EMH hours are great for getting stuff done, and then youcan just hop on a bus to get back to your room for a nap/swim.
