Crowd levels at Christmas - WDW vs USO

I have a planning dilemma and I need some input. I currently have a 9 night stay booked at WDW from Dec 20 - 29. I am thinking about adding a 2 day stay at RPR - either Dec 20 - 22 or Dec 27 - 29.

The additional cost to add 2 days at USO at the beginning of the trip is $147.04 and the additional cost to add 2 days at USO at the end of the trip is $258.74. The difference between the two options is approximately $112.

My question is: based on crowd levels, would you go to USO from Dec 20 - 22 and save $112 or go from Dec 27 - 29 and spend the extra $112.

I'd expect the larger crowds on Dec. 27-29 instead of Dec. 20-22. If you want to avoid larger crowds, I'd go Dec. 20-22. The decoration and shows would be the same. What you would be sacrificing is park hours. The parks open at 9am and close at 7pm on Dec. 20-22; the parks open at 8am and close at 10pm on Dec. 27-29. Although its a bummer to lose 4 hours a day of park visiting, the smaller crowds and FOTL perk for staying on-property should allow you to see everything that you want.

We went to WDW last Christmas and it was busyish but not too bad to us. We rode everything we wanted to.

Well at the end of our trip we decided to tack on a few extra days at Universal. Oh wow!! It was no where near as busy as WDW. It was so nice with the FOTL and staying at RPR.

We loved it so much we just got back from a 5n/6d Universal only trip.


Oh and the dates we were at Universal were Dec. 25-28.
