We are considering taking a trip down to WDW for Gay Days in June but Im wondering how bad the crowds are? Are they as bad as the 4th of July or a more moderate level?

Im also wondering about the weather... we have been to Florida in late July and also Aug/Sept and the heat and humidity are oppressive.. is it that bad in June too?

Thanks!!

We were at WDW this past Gay Days. The crowds were building each day we were there. They should be less than the 4th but large none the less. The weather was hot and humid. Our only complaint during our trip was the weather. We prefer our early May vacations. It is warm but not humid and the crowds are much smaller. Any other questions?

Thanks for the response....

My daughter really would like to attend and I figured it would be like the rest of the times we were there in the summer. Crowded, hot and humid!

I was just trying to figure out what to expect!

We went last year around June 6th, and the weather wasn't too bad. It did tend to rain in the afternoons, though, but most of the storms didn't last too long. It was really hot and steamy in AK afterwards!

We went this past June and found it to be very manageable, crowds wise. It didn't get too hot until the last two days we were there.

Crowds have not been too large when we have visited during this time of year except for 2002. This was when the travel industry 1st started to pick back up after the attack on the World Trade Center. I think a lot of people had put off their WDW vacation and couldn't stand it any longer.

The 1st Saturday in June, Gay Days at the MK, will have large crowds at the MK and will also steer many visitors to other parks that day. I think we have always used this day as a non-park day, but this was before the current ticketing system of Magic-Your-Way passes. Since additional days beyond 4 days cost so little, we don't mind having a "rest day" and still visiting a park.

We have visited during this week when Orlando had record setting high temperatures for a couple of the dates we were there. We always welcomed clouds and a little rain.

Many school systems in the North are still in session at this time, so crowds are no where near peak except maybe the Saturday.

We've been down in early and mid-June, and mid July. The early June was definitely the most comfortable weather-wise and had the least crowds, even during Gay Days. Have a great trip.

We went this past June during Gay Days and it wasn't horrible. We did Tampa/WDW just for a long weekend. It was hot, humid and it rained in the late afternoon/early evening but it was manageable because we take afternoon breaks and get to the parks for opening. We arrived at WDW on Saturday and it was just a Poly/Pool day. We did MK on Sunday and it was an EMH day (don't recommend) but we rode everything in Fantasyland that we wanted to ride by shortly after 10 am or 10:30, then took the train to Frontierland and grabbed FP's for BTMR, no problem. Now when the train got to the main gate - Wow, that was crazy crowded but we took our afternoon break shortly after lunch and returned for dinner at CP (ADR's were a must). I think if we had hit a non-EMH park we would have been fine. If you have a good touring plan I would say go for it. Even though its hot, its not as bad as it is later in the summer.

I have never gone for July 4th, but I understand that the parks have had to close the entrance due to being at capacity. To my knowledge that never happened when we were there for Gay Days weekend. And had I not known about Gay Days from the Dis, I would have just assumed that summer crowds had descended.
