Crowd leading up to Thanksgiving!!

we are planning a trip beginning he Friday before Thanksgiving and leaving Thanksgiving day. Hoping crowds will be lighter the first part of our trip. Anyone else been during that time? Thoughts??

Yes...the Friday before has been OK. Saturday is usually more crowded, but doable. That's when everybody starts showing up at the resorts. Sunday is when they seem to hit the parks hard. That's when we leave.

Well, the week of Thanksgiving looks to be one of the 3 busiest week of the year, along with the week of Christmas, and the week of New Year's. It looks like that Friday and Saturday won't be too bad, though.

I agree, we were there the week before Thanksgiving a few years ago, the resort was much more crowded on Saturday and the parks were very busy (not crazy) on Sunday.

Thanks! It sounds like about what I figured. We went right before Christmas last year and did not love the crowds. Thanksgiving is the only time we can go so I guess we will enjoy what we can!!!

We did the same thing this past year. I'd equate the crowds to our only summer trip (June). We much prefer lower crowd times, but the weather was great and we still had a blast. Rope drop and early afternoon FP were our plan, although we never were able to get even one 4th FP that helped (oh I can get Pirates during fireworks--great....). But we just rode what we felt like waiting for and skipped the rest. We did 2 MK days which helped with that. You'll have a great trip

Thanks so much! I feel better about our trip. We went last year at Christmas and in July and it was super crowded both times. With my kids getting older it is just too hard to pull them out of school! I am hoping the first few days of the trip will not be too bad. We will be there 7 days so we can take our time when it gets to crowded!

We went two years ago the same time as you are going and it wasn't that bad up until about Wed then it really started getting crowded. We used EMH and fast passes and where able to ride most of what we wanted. We also have park hopper tickets and would leave the crowded park to go to a recommended park in the afternoon. As a matter of fact, we are planning on going again this year the same time. We will check in Friday and attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Friday evening. I think this is worth the cost because we were able to ride a lot of the must do rides pretty easy at that time.
