Crouds at Water Parks

We haven't been to the water parks for many years after too many disappointed visits when we could find no shade at all (family of red heads so it's very important!).

This year, however, we are going in May, not July/August. Can any one tell me what the crowds are like mid week in the last two weeks of May? We don't have PAPs this year, only APs so don't really want to pay for entrance only to have to walk out again. Done this twice when we had PAPs.

We were there in Sep 2012 which should be very similar crowds to May. The water parks were still pretty crowded from about 11AM to 3PM.

The absolute key at the waterparks whenever you go is to be there when they open. Even in the busiest time of year if you are there at Rope Drop you should have no trouble whatsoever finding an area under one of the huts that is open to everyone first come first serve.

Just scope out your area at that time and reserve your chairs with towels and you will have shade the whole day whenever you need it.

If you walk in to any water park at nearly any time of the year at lunch time throguh the afternoon you will have a much harder time finding a chair in the shade.
