Crosspoint grand gathering......or was it? updated 3/06 with pics

Well, as I sit at work and look at driving directions from Houston to WDW, I think why not start my Trip report. As many of you may know I am a card carrying member of The Secret Green Club. So this TR will have at least a good start as my friends from the club read along with the adventures of “The Crosspoint Gathering.” I also would like to let you know that there is a great deal of pressure on me. No, not the, ok I paid off the trip and now we have to eat Roman noodles for the next month kind of pressure (he have been eating those since payment #1) but the long list of Fabulous trip reports by other club members like; Cynderella, Dwheatl, Lizzy Swan, Taralee4, Kaw1218, Mr.Okie(who lives in Louisiana?) Rer1972, Hockeymomof2, Pixiedust112,Crossfamily, Utahmomma and oh man what is that other guys name……oh it is right on the tip of my tongue……don’t you hate this it is right there oh well when I think of it I will tell you.

Here is the cast. Well first let me say that we are going to be a Grand Gathering. The name is the Crosspoint Gathering. We all belong to a small group at our church that meets in DGF’s house on Tuesday nights.(if you are ever in Houston on a Tuesday night Stop on by) There will be 12 of us in all.

So on to the not ready for Disney World Players

SDD12.….Never been I don’t know her all that well but I am sure she will be excited
SDS12.….Never been....poor kid he is out numbered 6-1

That is quite a cast. I am ready to go commando on WDW DIS UNC that is that other guys name, I knew it would come to me, boy do I feel better.(if I have left off any one I am sorry but I can walk into the kitchen and forget what I was going in there for before I get there, and I live in a 2 br apt ) where were we? Oh yes, I am ready to take Disney by storm the other adults may just want to sit back and let WDW come to them.

A little background on Crosspoint, this group formed after a divorce recovery group was ended. Well the book we were studying ended. I announced that I was cured and no longer had any baggage from my divorce everyone else decided that we better stay together if for no other reason than to keep me in line. We no longer focus on divorce recovery but on different studies or books of the Bible. Let me take this opportunity to thank God for this trip and this group of friends. If you have been blessed enough to have never gone through a divorce let me just say that IT STINKS. We now have about 7 other people in our small group. Before I get off of my soap box let me encourage each of to attend a bible based church this weekend, and if you already attend on Sunday morning try and find a small group that meets some other day of the week. These things won’t change your life, but if you meet up the real Jesus Christ and his plan of salvation your life will never be the same. If you ever need someone to pray for you PM me and I will get on it. So that is Crosspoint in a Nutshell.

Mr. Jim, Stacie (no romantic inclinations between those two) and their kids will fly into Orlando on Dec, 26, Use ME to get to the Coronado and return on Jan, 2. They will also take SDD12 with them and she will return with us. We will pile into my MPV and head out after work on the 29th I am hoping no later than 6pm and then drive all night (taking turns and sleeping ) to arrive at the POP around noon on the 30th. Wow, we will really be there. We will check in and meet up with Jim and Stacie at AK.

I don’t know if you noticed in the beginning but the kids have no idea that we are going? Can you say Merry Christmas. I hope so. My girls have mentioned that they want to go back, and DGF’s girls tell us how much fun that would be. We just shake our heads and ask them how much do you think that would cost? Way to much is the usual and correct response.

I am torn as to post this today or wait until I get a little closer to December 29th. I won’t really have an update for a few weeks, but I guess that won’t be so unusual will it Disunc(by the way DISniece looks very sweet)

We (DGF & me) are soooooooo excited. Well Stacey is pretty excited too. Jim just told his ex-wife about the trip and she freaked out "I wanted to take her first!" Oh boy, here we go with the "DRAMA." I won't go into the list of text messages back and forth but I will say we are praying that she won't spill the beans while JDD is with her this week. That would really stink and would make the rest of us very

Also, I did not run down our ADR's

Dec 30th Captain Jack's Steak and Lobster, what a great way to start off a trip. This will be our first day. We were going to meet the rest of our group at AK but, thanks to the DIS we found out that RnR will close on JAN 2 for refurbishment. We will now go to MGM on that first day so we can ride RnR before it goes down for the rest of the month. Thank you Disboards!!!

Dec 31st Epcot, again the Dis says that this is the park that can handle crowds the best and, "Is there a more crowded day than New Years Eve?" Dinner will be at the L'Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante.

Jan 1ST, Magic Kingdom. We will be there first thing. We may be crabby but we won't be waiting in line. After a nap we will come back and eat dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern

Jan 2ND, we will be going back to MGM and for the life of me I don't know were my ADR is but I do know we have special seating for Fantasmic TOT here we come

Jan 3rd, Day 2 at Magic Kingdom. Please note if you are not a Dis'er, school is about to start so you should alredy be on your way home so we don't have to wait in lines... errrrr uhhhh,.... I mean, what kind of parents would keep their kids out of school to go to Disney? My DGF's favorite charactor is Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends are a close 2nd so today we eat at the Crystal Palace. MMMMM, I think I will need an electric scooter when I am done here. 4 of my favorite words are "All you can eat"

Our last day is at AK. We picked AK because the park closes around dark and we won't have to leave a park while it is still open.

Wow now you guys know allmost all of my details. I have a source close to Santa and she tells me I am getting a Digital Camera for Christmas (OK ... so I hear it is a Kodak 7.1 mega pixels and a docking station with a printer and although I pointed to it on the shelf.... she put it in the basket). I will try and post some pictures of Christmas day for you. We are going to break the news in a little different way so stay tuned for _ _ _ _ _ - _ _ - _ _ _ _ _ _ _. ( I like to buy a vowel please.)

It's Wheel....of...Fortune!

DGF,Stacie and I just finished putting up the Wheel of Fortune Set in the Garage. We have a wheel that is about 14 inches wide with the following spaces; safe-you get to guess a letter, Free Spin- get the letter right and you get a free spin, Guess a Vowel-since we can't buy one you can guess one if you spin lands here, Lose a turn-ouch, Bankruptcy-lose your free spins if you have any and last is Bad Hint-Like Atlanta Braves because Everyone knows that the Braves have spring Traing at the Wide World of sports Complex. I am getting the you better help wrap this stuff look so I will update maybe with pics latter. Merry CHRISTmas

Well it is Christmas morning and We(me really) made it with out spilling the beans. So after opening way too many gifts the kids are cleaning up the mess.
Sidenote(in honor of Disunc) All of us are here except SDD and SDS they are with their dad this morning

So anyway, DGF says "I feel like playing a game. Does any one want to play a game?" and I say "there just happens to be a Wheel of Fortune game set up in the garage." Everyone gets outside to the garage and they saw this

After a 2 times through the 6 kids the board looked like this. This was great to watch the girls go blank when it was there turn to pick a letter. They would pick a vowel when they were not allowed and lose thier turn, they even picked the letters that were already on the board and on the used letter board. I guess game shows are harder than they look.

SDD11T guessed the right answer "we are going to Walt Disney World"
The response was better than I ever imagined!!! Lots of this and some of this
and one of these All the girls were going crazy except for JDD. She looked so sad. So I leaned down and said "you get to go too" and she was off to the Party
Here is the puzzle solved.

After this we went into the house and under the tree were two more presents. The first was the Crocs that we mentioned earlier and the Second was A Disney bucket

One of the neatest things is a Autograph book that DGF and I made. Here are a few pics of that
