Does anyone else on this board go over to the scrapbook side occasionally?

I tried it once for a trip we took to Aruba (regular scrapbooking---not digital). I bought a nice scrapbook with a map of Aruba on the cover, I went to the craft store and bought beach balls, sand castles, umbrellas, etc. and wouldn't you know it's the only trip I've never finished an album for? It was just SO MUCH WORK and so expensive to boot. The writing, the cutting, the gluing, the getting pictures developed, etc. It just wasn't for me.

Now, digital scrapbooking is a whole different story. Your pages always look so coooool :thumbsup2 And, I think I could deal with sitting on the computer making pages as opposed to sitting at the dining room table doing all of the steps listed above.

I might have to give it another shot..........maybe. ;)

Ann, I think you'd like digital scrapping, it's much cheaper AND you can reuse stuff! Digi scrapping what originally brought me to the DIS. Then I discovered the photo board and between the two both of my addictions are fueled daily.

Most of these are linked to my galleries so if you click on them you can see bunches more.

A couple from San Diego:

I did a lot while making a 79-page photo books for our 2007 trips. That was before I got into photography, and I haven't really done any since. Since getting my DSLR, I have spent most of my "Photoshop time" editing pictures. I really should get back into making these layouts.

Here are some of my old ones:

Wow, Tom. I would say you did that the right way (your engagement)! Well played, sir. BTW, your scrapbooking skills are great too.

How many people can say they have a picture of the moment they got engaged (with Wishes fireworks, no less)? That's pretty awesome. I was way too nervous to think about a camera during that moment in my life. Matter of fact, I remember being sick as a dog... literally green (until she said "yes" :teeth:). This gives me an idea... our 10 year wedding anniversary is this October and we're planning a trip to Costa Rica... I was planning to do a very small vow renewal ceremony on a beach in Costa Rica, so maybe I could propose to her all over again when we go to WDW in September... :scratchin (she doesn't read the disboards, btw).

Anyway, sorry to go OT.

Don't let the pictures fool you, I was hardly calm and suave for the actual proposal. The full story is here.

Scrapbooking is a totally different game than editing images. I knew quite a lot about photoshop before editing a single image, and all but the basic concepts were fairly irrelevant for editing images. Vice-a-versa is true. I had to learn a lot of new techniques for editing images. It's interesting to me as it demonstrates just how deep the program is.

What do you all do with your digital pages? Do you print them and put them in albums or do you share them on-line, etc.?

I've done a little bit of what I suppose one might call digital scrapbooking to use as calendar pages and greeting cards. It's fun, but for me scrapbooking is as much a social activity as anything else. A couple friends and I try to get together once a month to scrapbook (although it never actually happens that often). As time has progressed though we seem to do less actual scrapbooking and more eating, shopping and playing. :thumbsup2 We have more papers and supplies than we'll ever be able to use.

Anyway, here are a few of my digital efforts--not nearly as elaborate as some of yours!

I share them online with family, keep mini versions on my iphone and print them out 12x12 and put them in albums. I love preserving the memories but in all honesty it's mostly a creative outlet for me. It's something I can do that my kids can't get into and mess up!:rotfl:

Love your castle page, btw.

Love all your pages, but this layout in particular is really great!

This is one of my favorites, great layout!

I've done non-digital scrapbooking but it is sooooo labor intensive.

Todd,

I love the idea of getting engaged with the fireworks going off in the background. :lovestruc

I just started again with Scrapbooking. I bought a Cricut and some cartridges over the weekend, in fact. I don't have any Disney pages yet (just my girls, of course--the older dog has three scrapbooks--the little one has one half of a page.). I love the layouts you've posted. Beautifullly created (like your photographs)

I'm usually on the scrapbooking board and visit over here on the photography board a few times a week ... the two go hand in hand!

I still do paper scrap booking. I have the Creative Memories digital program but haven't used it much. I have so much paper stuff I'll never use it all up.

Here are a few I've done.

For me it is a social thing, but I do work on it on my own or I would never get anything done!

Where do ya'll get you digital scrapbooking goodies? We leave tomorrow for WDW and i want to make a book of all of the photos I will be taking, I already do digital scrapbooking, but haven't been able to find much Disney related. THANKS!!!

Most digi stuff is Disney inspired because of copyright. Britt-ish Designs is IMHO the master at this and she always has freebies on her blog as well. Here are my LO's with her brand new kit (a collab w/Sahlin Studios who also puts out great stuff):

Most of the Dis inspired stuff in the LO's I posted before are using Britt's stuff. You can see what she has here: http://www.scrapmatters.com/shop/search.php?mode=search&page=2&sort=title&sort_direction=1
