It was the usual routine this morning - wake up, send Gemma a text, wait for the reply, get up, get washed and dressed and then up to Topsiders for breakfast.

Once we got back from breakfast our stateroom had already been made up so I sorted out my fish extender gifts and took them round. For those who don't know, a fish extender is something that hangs on the metal fish that is outside each stateroom door and is normally used by cast members to leave messages for guests, but it has been adopted by board members as a way of leaving small gifts for each other. For this trip I had chosen to leave a mini pack of Jaffa cakes and a couple of small Cadburys Celebrations.

By the time I had finished it was 10:30 so I joined Dad in our usual spot on deck 4 where we sat for a couple of hours before going to do some shopping.

We then went back to the cabin and relaxed for a while before going to Studio Sea at 12:45 for the cheese seminar. This was a talk about the history of cheese and how it's made, and included a tasting of 5 cheeses; Parmesan, Boursin, Gouda, Brie and Gorgonzola. It was only after I had eaten the Gorgonzola I found out it contains penicillin, which I'm allergic to as an antibiotic, but luckily there were no ill effects from the cheese.

After the cheese tasting we went up to the Buena Vista theatre for another presentation by Stacia Martin - this time about the attractions at the 1964 Worlds Fair.

From there we went up to Pluto's Dog House where I got a pulled pork sandwich and Dad had his usual burger. After eating I did my 3 laps of the Promenade Deck and then it was down to the cabin to relax before the show.

The show tonight was by Christopher Caress, a hypnotist. It was my first time seeing a live hypnotist show and I have to say that although I'm still a sceptic it was pretty good.

After the show we went back upstairs to get ready for dinner, which was back in Parrot Cay again. I had pot stickers followed by jerk chicken salad, then shrimp and scallops, Dad had crab cake followed by melon soup and then tenderloin. For dessert we both had sundae.

After dinner it was time to go up on deck for the Pirates In The Caribbean deck party.

And where else on a cruise do you get fireworks!

We were in bed by 11:00 with no time change for once, ready for another day at sea tomorrow.

Day 9 - At Sea

Wow loving your shopping purchases.

I always wondered if I would get a bit bored on a trans atlantic crossing but there seems so much to do everyday.

Yes, there's always something to do. I can honestly say that I never once got bored.

Love the DCL hoody and pins. Another great day

Another good day, can't go wrong with fireworks at sea.
