And introducing
Gemma - my girlfriend (no age or photo or I wont make our first anniversary next month, lol!)

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to do a transatlantic cruise and today was the start of realising that dream, we were on our way to Heathrow to stay overnight ready for our flight to Houston tomorrow, from where we would be driven down to Galveston and stay overnight before boarding the Disney Magic and sailing across the Atlantic to Barcelona.

I was up at 8:00 and did my packing - yes I do leave it until the last minute - and then settled down to watch some television before online check in for the flight opened at 10:25.

Once online check in opened I logged on to the BA website and I was pleased to see that we still had the seats I had chosen at the back of World Traveller Plus. I got us both checked in, printed off the boarding passes and put them safely in my folder with all the other confirmations for the trip.

We had a cab booked for 2:00 but once again the cab company showed great customer service by texting Dad just after 1:00 to say that the driver was outside. As we couldn't check in to the hotel until 3:00, and I was still watching TV, we made the driver wait but by 1:45 we were on the road and on our way to the Travelodge at Heathrow Terminal 5.

Traffic was fairly light and just one hour after leaving home we pulled up outside the hotel where we were quickly checked in and made our way up to our room.

After relaxing in the room for a while we went down to sit in the bar and have a drink then later we ordered some food - I had the southern fried chicken burger and dad had the tower burger. For dessert I had the chocolate cheesecake and dad had the caramel apple crumble.

We spent the rest of the evening relaxing and I had a Skype chat with Gemma before making our way back upstairs at 9:30. We were in bed by 10:00 ready for our flight out at 10:25 tomorrow morning.
