Hi All,
I was reading another thread, which is where I got this idea from and I was just curious if anyone has ever tried this and if so, how it turned out, etc. I was thinking of taking sqares, maybe like 4X6 size down on my next trip and having the characters autograph them and then when I return home cross stitch over the autographs, I was just curious as to if any of you have ever tried this and if so , do you have photos or how did it turn out, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You. :)

Sorry no advice but would love to see it when you are done. sounds cute

I do counted cross stitch, but I have not ever heard of anyone doing it. I would think it would work out well! Especially if you did an outline stitch and then put a border around each square. Neat idea!

Thanks for the advice, I might give it a try, if anyone else has any other suggestions, or has done this, I would be happy to hear. Thanks. :)

My mother did something similar in a quilt for me when I graduated from high school. However, she actually had my friends sign the piece of material and then she embroidered over top of the signatures. I'll get a picture of the quilt later today and show you what it looks like. I think she just did a chain stitch over the signatures though. I'll take a closer look at it when I have time to pull it out and get the picture. I would think you could do something similar easily with the character signatures.

Would you need to use an embroidery hoop when you do the stitching? Maybe you should make the squares larger than 4x6. You'll also need something for them to sign on-I would bring a clipboard with you for that.

Sounds like a great project!
