Cross country motorhome trip to DL - Help please.

We are going to go on a cross country roadtrip from PA to CA via motorhome. We are just in the beginning stages of planning for this adventure next summer. We've never been on the west coast and plan to spend several days at Disneyland as the halfway point of our oddessy. In need of lots of advice and really appreciate the info on the DL board.

Is there a nice campground near DL where we can stay with the motorhome - or is it better to stay on-site at a DL resort hotel?

How many days should we allocate for DL and California Adventure - 2 or 3?

What beach should we check out for our first time seeing the Pacific?

All advice is welcome with my thanks! The DIS really helped for our WDW vacations and we are so excited to plan a trip and get to see the mouse in another time zone!

I can only help with one question. You will need at least 3 days to see the two parks and Downtown Disney and a quick peek into the Grand Californian Hotel. You will need 2 days at Disneyland and one day at DCA. If you finish with DCA quickly (like many people do) you can go back to Disneyland or explore Downtown Disney.

will you continue up 101 when you leave the LA area ? If so I would save my trips to the beach for the Ventura/Santa Barbara county areas, and not have to worry about the navigation/traffic inherent in LA.
