Cross-Country Driving Ideas

We're thinking of driving from RI to Wyoming, and need to break up the trip with some tourist stops. Gettyburg is high on the list. DH wants to stop at the Football Hall of Fame in OH, and DS wants to stop at Mount Rushmore in SD. Can anyone suggest other interesting places to visit?

Went through some of that same territory on my cross country trip last fall. Some things we saw along the way:

Wisconsin Dells (just drove through)
Spam Museum (MN)
Blue Earth, MN
Corn Palace (Mitchell, SD)
Badlands, SD
Wall Drug (Wall, SD)
Custer State Park, SD
Jewel Cave, SD
Wind Cave, SD
Mt. Rushmore (but, that's already on your list)
Crazy Horse Memorial, SD

These spots in Wyoming are probably out of your way, but...

Devils Tower, WY
Bighorn Mountains
Bighorn Canyon, WY (more specifically, the Pryor Mountain Horse Range)
Yellowstone
Grand Teton
Jackson Hole

all excellent ideas. We've been to Teton and Yellowstone before but are thinking about driving there because the airfare is so expensive. And, the bonus is that we'll get to see more of America.
