Cross Body bags, (Ladies show)

I spend a lot of time in NYC. A couple years ago, we were going to an event at Madison Square Garden in December. We were early and strolling around Macy's looking at the windows. Several NYC police officers were handing out pamplets and talking to ladies about saftey. They recommend not to wear cross body bags. Thieves often come up from behind and use a box cutter to slash the strap, grab the bag and are gone before you can even turn around. They like to use box cutters. Often, they slash into the clothing and/or skin as well. They recommended using a small bag with a short strap that can be held tight under the armpit.
