Croptopia getaway?

I'm attending my first weekend scapbooking, while I'm excited I'm nervous b/c it's my first time. Has anyone attended Croptopia getaways, it will be in Mystic CT. Can anyone share your weekend crop? any suggestions or good advice?

Never been to that particular one, but full of advice (or just full of it . . . )

To take
seat cushion
personal ott light (especially if battery operated)
basic tool kit
homemade page kits (make more than you think you'll need)
chocolate /snacks
'wetones'
bottled water
i-pod or earplugs or both
aspirin or your choice of ache reliever
small sticky notes, pen (to note what a page needs when you get home - ie typed journalling, eyelets or whatever embelli you didn't bring)

Leave home
Kids, pets, spouse
everything you own that you 'might' use but probably won't.

Thanks for the suggestions...I forgot the seat cushion. I used to go to an all day CM crop but the last time I did tradition pages was 2 years ago (I have been just doing digital albums but now I'm excited to work on my tradition albums)

You can try to attend as a day guest for either Friday, Sat or Sunday..

I went to this a couple of years ago. Actually forgot it was here in CT.

I had a good time. I did the day package on Saturday. I think I took 2 class. One was with Cara (forgot her last name, had seen her at CK and liked her) and a 'take better pictures' class. I enjoyed the food. I think I got lunch and dinner with my package. I got a lot done. I remember them having some vendors and buying a few things. There were also some baskets people did as raffles. It was about 9:30 and I was ready to pack up and go as they were doing raffles. I never win anything! But you never know So I packed up while they were announcing and I won a basket!

I had a good time. I even went by myself because at the time I did not know anyone who scrapbooked. I think I need to remind my peeps about this!

I actually started looking into a weekend trip 3 weeks ago and my son asked if we are going away during his winter break, I told him daddy had to work but we might go for a driving trip. So I found Croptopia and its held at Marriott so my husband has so many Marriott rewards points so he booked 3 nights and said he'll take our son to activities (acquirum and the see the sailboats while I crop). I don't know anyone but I been wanting to crop since all my stuff are in boxes.
Today, I'm trying to figure out what to pack and what I need to work on.
Glad you had a good time when you went...I'm hoping the people I sit with are nice.

The spa was pretty nice, it's a nice hotel too.

The aquarium is great, so is Mystic Seaport. Plenty of places to eat and what not in the area.

They are an AWESOME local shop from Mass. We have family near there and it's a MUST go to when we visit.

If you didn't know, Croptopia is hosting a weekend crop in Mystic, CT Oct 28-30, they are also going on a Caribbean cruise Oct 1-8... and there just might be a Disney event in October - I hear final arrangements are being discussed... so check their website (google Croptopia Getaways) and their Facebook Fan Page... I just got back from the Knoxville Event and it was awesome! (as they all are!) Hope to see you at a Croptopia Event in the future!

I love Croptopia Getaway weekends and have attended a number of Susan's events. Mystic is one of my favorite locations. My expectations are met everytime from accomodations to croppin space, to vendors, to tools (many cricuts & cartriges) to use, to yummy food, to well I could go on and on. Sign up for a Croptopia event and you'll be happy you did.

So, how was your trip to Mystic?

sorry for the delay post...I have been away from Disboard trying to plan our first family cruise so trying to do research.
Anyway, I had the best time (the people was so sweet, food was great and I got 40 pages done....I'm so happy) I want to go to more of this types of scrapbooking (just scrapbook for 2 or 3 days to just catch up on those pages, learn new things and buy more new supplies)
