Looks really real, except for one thing, they sent it to mxxxxx@yahoo.com, mxxxx98@yahoo.com, mxxxx99@yahoo.com, mmxxxy@yahoo.com, m*****k@yahoo.com, mxxxx@yahoo.com, mmxxxx@yahoo.com, mxxxxx@yahoo.com, mxxxx@yahoo.com

Gee, think they would be bright enough to BCC all the addresses?
(Stars and Xes added by me to protect possible correct addresses)

But let this be a warning to everyone. DON"T answer these emails, don't give anyone your ATM card number and PIN. THe bank will NEVER ask you for it.

I agree.

What gets me are those asking you to switch money for them for some reason or another. The newest one I seen on that is set in Iraq. Funny, people actually buy it. I had to talk my brother out of one he got from Africa.

Another I just got in my e-mail

I clicked on site being curious. It looks similar so don't go by that. It asked for my card number and atm number and exp date. Now why would they need that if they are real!

Never trust e-mails, especially ones who ask for personal info. Go to the site you know is good or call them up. Never give out card number and pin. Real companies already know this they don't need your pin.

The sad thing is, a lot of people are actually fooled by those emails :( Mostly people that are more computer illiterate :(

Unfortunately, it's not limited to just unfamiliarity to computers. Too often, people don't take the time to really think things through before blindly doing what they've read. I worked at a retail store for a short time after college. I was surprised by the number of people who didn't sign their credit cards. When I told them I could not accept it without other identification, several said that they never sign their CCs because they'd read (Dear Abby was sited as a source by more than one) that it wasn't safe to sign them because then a thief would have their signature and be able to forge it more easily. I tried to politely point out that if the CC wasn't signed, the thief could just sign the name on the card in whatever way came naturally so having to try to forge an existing signature would make it harder for the thief. They didn't get the logic...

Oh yeah, most of the people who didn't have a signature would then say "I'll sign it now" and seemed perplexed that I still couldn't accept the card without other identification. :)

Did you forward the e-mail onto Wells Fargo? If not, do so, so they can send out a fraud alert noticfication.

I remember talking to a guy who was a prosecutor. He said that an amazing number of criminals robbing stores shoot out the survelance camera, but of course before they do that, they stare right into it. He said that that makes for terrific ID!

Marsha, thanks for the heads up.

I'll be sure to use the BCC next time......

I get the one from Citibank almost weekly asking me to verify my information and I don't even have an accout there...I use my Credit Union for everything and have only one CC (which has nothing whatsoever to do with Citibank) so where they think this is getting them, I have no idea. Nor do I know where they're getting this information. Maybe surfing the net has a lot to do with it but I'm extremely cautious ever since they first started the fraudelant Pay Pal e-mails.

Nancy, I sent it to WF before I posted here.

Lou, shame on you.

I have gotten the letter from Nigeria many times. I have responded that I just won the lottery and want to help them, if they will just send me their bank routing and account numbers. Strange, they never send it to me!
