Crocs vs. flip flops

All this talk about crocs and how comfortable they are. Anyone out there just wear plain old flip flops their entire time at WDW? My DS (16) and I live in them exclusively all summer and have always worn them at the parks. Are we in a minority?

I wear flip flops. Ive never worn crocs but Ive felt them and I know if I wore them they would destroy my feet. That hard plastic stuff isn't comfortable and it rubbing against my feet while walking around Disney wouldnt be fun.

I am straddling the fence, I have Croc Flip Flops that are incredibly comfortable. It is the first pair of Flip Flops I have ever been able to tolerate. I bought them at Dicks Sporting Goods.

i wear regular flip flops and sneakers (if it's raining...i've gotten blisters from walking in wet flip flops). No crocs for me!

Were they real Crocs or a different brand? Crocs aren't hard plastic. They are very soft.

They were real ones I think. I picked them up at some store at Downtown Disney. The beach store where they have bathing suits and stuff, I dont know the name of it.

My entire family will be bringing only crocs and our croc flipflops and that is all!!!
Daughter and I will wear the croc flipflops mostly....

Crocs are very soft...so I doubt what you tried were name brand.

NOPE: They are NOT hard plastic. They are made of FOAM!!! Anyone out there that has never tried on or worn a Croc would be amazed at just how comfy they really are wearing!!! I have BEACH and ATHENS. The flip flops are fabulous.

NOW..about WDW..as much as I love Crocs...I need to have a tied sneaker on my feet 24/7 when I am in the WORLD...yup, something like a REEBOK Princess style/white that looks good with everything. I always buy a brand new pair before I go and there is virtually NO break in of these sneakers, comfy thru and thru.

ONE MORE THING..I have a DS that is 24yo. He took his DGF to WDW and they spent an entire week in the WORLD in flip flops but they own the REEFS. I also have a pair of REEFS....very comfy and nothing like a cheap plastic flip flop. They run about $25.00 a pair just like the Crocs ($29.99).

Unless, OP, you have not spent a good price on your flip flops they probably will not give you the support you need for WDW for one solid week of walking.

I think so. I wear a pair of flip flops like these and have never had a problem. The top part isnt free standing so it molds to my foot and is extremely comfortable.

Even If I havent tried on the real Crocs I doubt I would like them because I dont like shoes or flipflops that are pre set to a foot. I like it when they are molded to my foot and Ive looked at the pictures of the Athens Crocs and they look like more of the same.

Am I the only one who can wear nothing but sneakers when walking the parks? I've tried Birkenstocks, Crocs, flip flops, they all end up rubbing somewhere on my foot. Nothing but Nikes for me. :confused3

I wore flip flops, got a really comfortable pair in DTD, a lot like the ones schmitty posted about, of course by the time I found them, my feet were already KILLING me lol

I gotta admit, as comfortable as people tell me crocs are, I can't get past the way they look......I guess the whole croc trend hasn't caught on in North Jersey ;)

Nope! I need sneakers too. I have tried everything....I have a pair of Mephisto sandals that are so comfortable and have sole support BUT I need full foot support. Nothing provides that like a good sneaker (keds don't count) There's something about the tied shoe securing your foot and supporting your ankles and cushioning your knees. I never have tired legs or swollen feet or blisters of any kind.

When we go to Universal, reefs are just fine....there is not nearly as much walking.

Just thinking about walking around Epcot in flip flops makes me want to cry.

Last December I walked all over the place in UGGS.....they were soooooo comfortable. They are great for cooler months in WDW.

YUP, like I posted #12(above), I love Crocs and Reefs but it is sneakers for the WORLD w/all that walking.

Crocs are not "pre set to a foot" they mold to YOUR foot as you wear them... something about your body heat warming them just enough to mold... that's one of the many benefits of Crocs...

I LOVE my Crocs... Most flip-flops kill my feet, but not my Crop-flops... I'll be wearing them on our up coming trip and most likely no other shoes...

I'd say don't knock 'em till you try 'em.... :goodvibes

WOW.. that is a pretty UPSCALE restaurant...I am leaning with a NO for flip flops. Even basic black. The men are required to wear Jackets to V&A!!!

I just asked my DS who LIVES in his basic black REEFs and he also said no. He just was there in March...very elite, classy, upscale, AWESOME!!! :goodvibes

Hi!
I've worn flip flops last year and they were such a relief after wearing sneakers all day. They're Nike, well broken in and I still got blisters. This year, I bought the Croc Scutes. They are the most comfortable shoes. I've worn them to the mall and just got back from the Jersey shore, Wildwood, and wore them walking around the boardwalk. They're great. I'll be wearing them in WDW, along with my flip flops and sandals that I know are comfortable. I also bought body glide to help prevent blisters. Hopefully I won't have any this year!!

I wore nothing but my croc flip flops in the parks and they were so comfortable. On previous trips I always wore easy spirit or nike tennis shoes, but the croc flip flops were much better for me.
