Crocs & Socks?

I have been seeing where many on here think the Crocs are very comfortable. Are they hot? Can you where socks with them or is that "uncool." Considering getting them, but wanted more info. Thanks,

There are different styles of crocs so I do wear socks with the beach style on occasion but I don't with my cleo's. My feet have never gotten hot in crocs, there are holes along the side and on the top that allow air flow.

Oh boy. My general reply to crocs questions is that they are the ugliest, most uncool footwear in existence, BUT there are times when comfort trumps coolness and WDW is definately one of them.

Still, I'm having a hard time saying its OK to wear crocs and socks (hey that has a nice suessian ring to it - croxNsox!). But, no, now that I've really thought about it, crocs are so awful that there's no way to make them worse. So wear them with socks if you must.

As far as the question of them being hot. They come in different styles, and I'm sure each style has different venting properties. I've only worn the caymans, which vent fairly well. So, when I'm walking, the air flows through the vents and my feet are fine. But I will say that when I'm in my crocs and I'm standing or I'm sitting still, and its hot out, my feet tend to sweat. And this can be a bit unpleasant because then the crocs get a bit slippery - not too bad because they're textured inside, but less than ideal. But, I am a sweaty kind of guy, so I'm sure your results will have a lot to do with weather you're a foot sweater or not. And yes, socks do solve this problem. I do wear croxNsox around the house occaisionally (much to my wife's chagrin).

I wear crocs and socks at WDW. (At home, I don't wear socks with crocs). It looks horrible, ugly, totally uncool. But comfort trumps all that. My feet get sweaty and slippery so at WDW I wear the moisture-wic type of sock. I get the very low cut, no-show socks so they are less obvious. My feet have never been as comfortable at WDW as they are in crocs. The people in the more stylish shoes can have them. Comfort is your best friend at WDW.

Actually, I think Mickey is your best friend at WDW. But I agree with the sentiment - comfort is right up there.

I wear crocs with socks all of the time. When I first got my pair, I'd go without socks, but quite honestly I find them more uncomfortable, and slippery because my feet sweat more without the socks. Wearing socks with crocs is not uncool- it makes no difference really (so I think)

My feet get sweaty in regular crocs so I do wear no show socks while in the parks. Who cares if they don't look 'cool'. Your feet will be happy!

I think that you already sacrifice the "cool" factor when you wear crocs -- don't get me wrong, I personally will no longer wear any other shoes at WDW. I didn't wear socks the first few days and did the last couple because I actually did get a sore spot (not quite a blister) on my foot. They are even more comfortable with socks.

I think we need a smiley wearing crocs!

I just wore my new Disney Crocs last night without socks(Beach style) for the first time. After several hours, I could tell I was working on a blister. Stopped at WalMart and bought some no-show socks, and they look just fine with the Crocs...not uncool at all. I'm one who doesn't think Crocs are ugly though. I think they're extremely cute and I own two pairs(not even close to what others around here own ).
For me, I can tell it will work out better in hot weather if i do wear socks.

I wear mine at work and try to find no show socks that have designs on them-perhaps some mickey ears or pooh and friends. Chances are most people aren't looking at your feet and if they are, they will probably be jealous because your feet will be comfy and stylish and theirs may not!!
