Crocs - socks or no socks?

After reading posts here... I bit the bullet and bought myself a pair of crocs. I'm lets say 'robust', so need to wear tennis shoes or something or my feet hurt. I got crocs.

Should I wear socks with them, or go barefoot? We're leaving Saturday and I expect it to be hot and possible rain. Your thoughts please? thanks.

I find socks with Crocs look really weird. It is like wearing socks with sandals...looks horrible. But that is my opinion!

Although I'm a firm believer in wearing proper support shoes ie/ running shoes, when doing a great deal of walking, I also understand the need to be comfortable. My daughter wears hers quite often, but does complain that her feet get really sweaty in them when she walks a great deal. I would definately bring a pair of ankle socks with you and if you find your feet getting sweaty I would put them on. Have a fabulous trip!

Im w/ the poster above... I am not a sandle/sock type of person either! However.... They do have those ped type things, my friend loves her croks but hates not wearing socks on her feet so she buys socks that just go past her toes... I dont know what they are called (peds or not) but she loves them!

As a newly converted croc wearer , I wear mine both ways. I haven't worn them yet to Disney or walking for terribly long distances...but I'd say bring some ankle socks and see how you feel. I can see my feet getting sweaty, and I'd probably put them on.
Remember, it's about comfort, not appearance! They can look kind of strange with socks on, but if they're comfortable, I don't care.

I'm a no sock girl! I love my crocs and wore them every day while we were in WDW in early May.

I just bought a pair for myself last week and wore them while up in Maine for the weekend. I found my feet got fairly warm in them. I have fairly wide feet with high arches and found that after awhile when my feet got warm, the part of the croc where the strap attaches on the inside of my foot started to rub and irritate a little bit. A pair of socks might be a good idea for the amount of walking that's done in Disney. At least have a pair with you like the previous poster said.

Yes, crocs are super comfortable, (I hate the way they look, but subcombed to the comfort!), but better safe than sorry. You don't want your day in the park ruined by sore feet.

Yeah, I would say that ankle socks are the way to go. The kind you normally can't really see you have on when you're wearing "normal" shoes.

My Crocs rub the tops of my feet over my arches, so I'm probably going to wear socks in WDW. For everyday wear though, they're fine without them.

I'd just make sure to bring an extra pair with you! You can swap them out if your feet get sweaty, or if they get wet on a water ride.

During the warmer months I go 'sockless'. Winter time or late fall, I wear 'em with socks.
It's nice to not have to worry about your feet getting wet in WDW. And it's easy to slip out of them and run barefoot through the many water squirters just lying in wait for the unsuspecting guest!!!

I have to wear ankle socks with mine too. I don't like the way it looks but it feels better to me.

I'm assuming that you have the Beach or Cayman model. I'd say without socks.

Honestly, I do wear socks with mine fairly often, but that's because walking through Boston, with all the construction, I always end up with dirt and sand in my Crocs and that tends to cause blisters. Socks are safer.

When I'm home or most other times though, no socks.

And with my Aspen/Endeavor models, I always wear ankle socks because they have no holes and tend to get too sweaty without socks.

sweaty bare feet mean nothing but blisters to my feet , never again will i wear sandels or crocs to WDW i paid dearly our first trip way back in 93 , ankle sock and tennis shoe ,hope this helps

I will say though that I do wear socks with my Crocs in the winter when I wear them with jeans.

But not with shorts.

It pained me at first, but I have to wear short ankle socks with my Beach ones. If I don't I get blisters on the inside/top part of my foot. Try them out before you go. I figure if I'm going to be on my feet for 10 hours a day and the crocs are more comfortable than any sneakers I've tried, then I'll just deal with the sock/sandal issue and avoid blisters.

I get sweaty feet and I wore my Crocs all week at Disney with no problems at all.

Always with socks. I did actually try them once (beaches) without socks shopping and they bothered my feet. With socks they feel great. Last weekend we had the graduation party for my DD (college) and DS (high school) and about halfway through the party I was wishing I had my crocs on! LOL

I don't care about the fashion police when I am at WDW either. If someone paid all that money for a Disney vacation and the most fun they'll have is noticing I am wearing crocs with socks, I don't even wanna see their vacation album pics! LOL

Let me start off by saying I just got my first pair and plan to wear them in Disney. Not to hurt anyone's feeling or anything but - Crocs are so ugly does it really matter whether you wear them with or without socks!! Seriously, if we were all going for looks and not comfort, would we be wearing crocs!!

I plan on trying without socks first to see how it feels, although I've walked around the house without socks and my feet sweat so I will probably wear socks.
