Crocs...socks or no socks?

Our family is half and half on the socks issue. The girls go without and the boys with, although DD wears socks with on the days she wears them to school because she has to change shoes for PE. Comfy either way, although I'd be worried about blisters with wet socks in them.

Um, and for the person who asked where we got ours: we got the crocs for the kids from StrideRite, and for us from a place called Coach House.

since there are so MANY styles now.....I have both, Summer & Winter crocs now.....my sandal-style crocs I do without socks. If I'm wearing pants (or crops), I wear them with low-cut socks, usually in colors that somehow match my crocs......hope that helps ya !! :thumbsup2

I wear the same crocs at WDW as I do at work so my feet are used to socks. When I'm in the parks, I pack a couple of dry pairs of socks to change into if they get wet.

I have to wear socks with mine. Haven't worn them to Disney yet but if I don't wear socks and my feet start sweating or get wet then they slide and start making squeaking, squishy noises that drive me nuts.

We are a crocs family. When we go on our next trip, everyone will be in crocs...though I have the whole fam bring a second pair of something in case they start to get hotspots.
A couple points to add...
The question of socks differs based on diff style crocs. My wife and girls have some that are a little dressier looking (I know I know, they're still just crocs) and those just would not work well with socks the way they fit. I have a pair myself that are boat shoes, with a firmer sole and body....those NEED the socks or I get blisters on the top of my foot.
I, myself, go both ways on the socks. I usually bring a thin light pair of sports socks (not cotton) and I'll switch back and forth. Of course, I take a them off for anything where water is in play.
My teenage kids often get a laugh out of dad with crocs and socks....though they have done the same on occasion when they had a hot spot.
I definitely recommend you bring a second pair of something else. Even just switching to another shoe for a day or two in the middle of the trip can make the difference between comfort and blisters!

Good heavens, the last time I looked at crocs for our upcoming trip to WDW, the sheer volume of styles made my head spin. Do you all do the original clog-type, or the sandals, or the flip flops or.....what? Yowza.

Whatever you do, be sure everyone wears them beforehand (preferably in similar climate) to see how the crocs feel on their feet. My daughter wore the traditional clog style with no socks and they were great. She is between sizes so we got a different style, and she gets a blister on just one foot if she doesn't wear socks with those.

I have the clog style with the Mickey shaped holes, and Cleo sandals. The Mickey hole clogs fit differently from the ones with the round holes, I find the Mickey ones more comfortable. And no socks with either style.

Wow this thread is originally 8 years old! I responded at that time, but will again. As Crocs have gone way out of fashion in 2015 in my neck of the woods, I do still wear the flip flops. They are extremely comfortable still even after the 5 years I've owned them.

Wow, blast from the past! I don't wear Crocs to Disney any more, though I still think they are a good shoe for it. I'm usually in Vibram 5 Fingers or flip flops these days depending on the weather. When I wore them I only wore socks in the winter when it was cold.

DS loved his Crocs and he always wore with ankle socks. DD was breaking in a pair on our last WDW trip and ended up with a blister at Hollywood Studios. She ended up wearing socks with hers too.

Wearing crocs with socks now, but I'm in the Colorado mountains and it's cold! If I were at WDW then I'd lose the socks. I hate hot, wet feet!

Last year I bought the disney leather crocs because it was pouring and my shoes and feet were soaked. I had no problem with those crocs going barefoot the rest of my trip, however this upcoming trip I plan on going with socks with my crocs. I don't get blisters on the bottom of my feet, but the crocs rub against the top of my foot causing open sores if I walk all day long in them. However when I wear socks the rubbing doesn't happen and the crocs are much more comfortable.

However I have recently bought loafer style crocs and those are super comfortable but they are not sockless style shoes otherwise they get stinky :)

No socks for sure unless it's freezing out and then I go with non white socks.

I've bought crocs for the whole family...I'm curious to those who've worn them in Disney World before, do you wear them with socks or just barefoot?

thanks!

I wear them to work everyday (during summer "dress down" time) and I wear them almost exclusively at the parks. I always wear them with "no show" socks and have never had any issues with blisters. In my avatar picture over there DW is the only one that doesn't have crocs on actually!

Crocs - ugliest shoes ever made. :scared:

Maybe. But when your feet hurt comfort trumps cuteness. I got my first pair of clog Crocs at WDW. Those shoes saved my vacation, I was almost in tears from my trusty sneakers that decided to pinch and rub my feet.

I say it depends on your feet. The skin on my feet rips like tissue paper if I go without socks. I once walked to my daughter's school and back (20 minutes maybe?) wearing Crocs without socks and lost a good chunk of skin off the top of my foot. Flip flops do it too where the strap rubs the top of my foot. If you're asking if you need socks, I'm guessing your feet aren't like mine and you might be fine without them. Obviously many others haven't had trouble.

My son, husband and daughter wear them in the parks without socks. They have never had blisters but they use the body glide stick that bikers/runners use on their feet to be sure.
