Crocs: Sizing in different styles

Hello, Croc newbie here!

I just received my first pair of Crocs in the mail. I read that Crocs run big, and I wear a women's 9.5B, so ordered the Cayman size M7/W9. They arrived, felt a bit wide, but good.

I then remembered reading someone who posted that your foot should not touch anywhere but the footbed of the Croc for a proper fit (when standing still.) Well one foot touches at the top and side. Also, the ankle strap pulls my foot forward enough to bump the big toe into the front.

QUESTIONS:
1. I read on the Crocs website that the Cayman is a slimmer version of the Beach, and I'm wondering if that means narrower?

2. Do you order a size down in the Beach, but true-to-size in the Cayman? (Should I have ordered a M8/W10?)

3. If your foot touches the shoe upper while you are standing still, does that mean that is where it will rub (and possibly cause blisters) when worn all day?

4. Should I send these back for a bigger size, or different style? Or do you think I can stretch them and make them work? Someone posted about how to heat them and stretch the ankle strap, I'm not sure if it's worth trying if the shoe itself is too narrow for the one foot. (I'll have to search for that stretching info, I couldn't find it just now.)

5. Do the different styles require different sizing adjustments? How do they compare in length and width?

I specifically got these for wearing to Disneyland in September, so I wouldn't get blisters or overly sore feet. Otherwise the ones I have feel great, and doubt I'd bother with the perfect fit.

Thanks for any advice! :)

I am a Croc freak, but it has been my experience that the Croc company has a definite quality control problem. Ordering them off the internet is risky. Best to try them on--I have several pairs of Cayman in different sizes. Putting them in the dryer for a few minutes and then wearing them around with 2 pairs of socks with stretch them nicely!

I only own one style...the Mary Janes. They are pretty true to size, but I was told by the store employee (at Journeys, where this style is exclusively at) that they do stretch a bit. I normally wear a size 7, but I purchased the 6...a little tight at first, but he was right, they did stretch and fit very comfortably now.

I do agree with dawgsgirl...best to try them on. And really, I'd say that about ANY shoe, not just crocs.

Does anyone have a suggestion for where this question should be bumped to? Not quite Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies.

Here's the way I view it. A "proper fit" would be anything that is comfortable to you, regardless if someone else posted about proper fitting.
