Crocs Question - Regarding the Fit

I went out today and bought a pair of Crocs Mary Janes for my trip to WDW this Friday. This is my first-ever pair.

If you are familiar with the Mary Jane style, you will know that it is a bit more narrow than the other styles and has a more narrow toe box.

Now, I normally wear an 8 or 8.5 shoe. When I tried on the size 8 Crocs, they were definitely short--my toe was right to the end of the shoe. So, I got a size 9. Seemed to fit in the store. As I stood, my toe did not touch the front of the shoe. The back strap does not even touch my heel.

Now I am wearing them around the house. As I walk around, my foot does slide forward a bit and my toe keeps hitting the front of the shoe. I figured that it probably wouldn't do this in the regular Croc shoe because the front of that shoe is "massive" on me. But it is doing it in this shoe. I can't say it's painful, but I don't know how I will feel after 8 hours of this. I know that a size 10 would just be WAY too big.

So, is this normal or not?

This is where the dryer trick comes in handy.

Put your crocs in the dryer on low heat for about 3 minutes. Take them out and wear them around the house over a pair of socks until they cool down. While they're still warm and soft, the back strap will stretch a bit and you should feel like you have a custom fit from then on.

Well, the thing is, I don't need the back strap to stretch. It is already kind of loose on me. It just seems that when I walk, my foot slides forward and my toe starts to hit the front. The strap is not causing this.

I can not wear a Mary Jane. If it does not feel right take them back. Boscovs is selling the Cayman which is narrower than the Beach. I just found out there is a CROC STORE in the Mall in Lancaster PA. I think I am going to go to try the other styles on.

I cannot wear the other styles. I tried them on today and my foot really did come out of them. This one is fine. I'm just wondering about the toe thing. I'm thinking because it is a narrower shoe (and it's not very "tall" in the front either) that this is just going to happen. I just don't know.:confused3
