July last year I did wear them with a thin short white sock with arch support (wigwam has great ones). When it rained or we went on the wet rides I just took off the socks, when everything dried up (which in July is a matter of minutes) I put the socks back on. I found wearing the arch support socks helped keep my feet from getting tired, and with the crocs it was match made in heaven. My trip in July was my first trip in 20 that my feet weren't killing me. So for me Crocs and socks all the way. Go for comfort, you do alot of walking (understatement) add the heat looks become secondary to getting through the day in comfort. Think about bringing Body Glide for hot spots on the body (good for everywhere on your body from the bottom of your feet to the top of your head)
Enjoy!
