Well, darn....I broke my little toe a week ago, and wearing sneakers is still uncomfortable. We're going to Disneyland next Monday.

So I was thinking that Crocs might be the solution. They look like there is LOTS of toe room (wide in that area). So any advise, thoughts, ideas on this would be great, if you can help.

I usually wear good quality sneakers with lots of support to help out on foot and back pain. Walking on concrete all day can be a killer! Crocs don't look like they have tons of support....but I have heard they are very comfortable.

Thanks for any help or advice you can offer!

When I first came onto these boards in Aug 06 everyone SWORE by them on another board, I think it was a Welcome Board? Anyway, if you like Crocs go for it. We're not a Croc family but after reading the reviews on the other board I was ALMOST sold. ;)

That's the problem....I'm not crazy about the Crocs "look." At this point though, I would be more than happy to buy a pair if it will mean a little bit of comfort. I understand the bottom is cushy....but is there any support?

P.S. Thanks for the lightening fast response. :goodvibes

Thanks, Drag n' Fly! I didn't even know there were rx models. I'm so glad to hear they worked for you with a broken toe. I'm feelin' good about this!

I'll go check the link right now and then see if I can find them in our area so I can go grab a pair.

I don't know what your definition of support is (not being snarky, I just truly don't know, I mean, how CAN we know what each of us means by that, right?), but I wore my mary jane style Crocs around Disneyland, and they were more comfortable than my Asics so...

That said, my feet are wide (hobbit-like, LOL) and Crocs aren't as roomy on me as they are for others, so I'm not sure it would work for ME to wear them with a broken toe.

But I bet they'd be better than other shoes!

Don't know about the Rx models, but if you have an REI nearby, they have Crocs.

Crocs don't have any ankle support, so I personally couldn't do parks in them. I've seen many, many people at both DL and WDW wearing crocs and flip flops, though, so each to their own...

I just bought a pair of of the Crocs RX Clouds. I accidently ordered a size too big, but because I plan on using some kind of an arch support or heel cup in them, I think they'll be ok.

As for how they feel...they still have those little nubbies on the inside (which I hate), and the heels are not as cushy as the Croc Beach...which I find weird. I thought the RX Crocs would be more cushy.

I'm about out of time, options and ideas on how to save my feet before we leave for DL, so....f you see a Grandma sitting on the bench whose face is twisted in pure agony as she's rubbing her aching feet....that will be me :lmao:

I walked the tread off a pair of Crocs Mary Janes last October in WDW and never had a hot spot, blister, or problem. I have wide, flat feet and I love my Crocs.

I'm ordering a new pair for our upcoming DLR/San Diego trip and plan on wearing them almost all the time.

Feeling your pain, I broke my little toe on tuesday, I haven't worn anything but my crocs since then, I'd have been really hosed if I didn't have them. But my foot is a really pretty shade of purple, so I have that going for me...lol..

Thanks for all the replies. So helpful!

There's a Crocs store in the mall, so I plan on going there tomorrow. The mary janes even sound cute!

Master Mason... That is so funny! LOL I know exactly what you mean about the lovely shade of purple. I've been wearing flip-flops since it happened, so there's no hiding that gorgeous purple foot.

I got the Payless brand Airwalk -Croc look-a-likes over the summer. Wore them for our three day trip to DL and they were wonderful! They are black mary jane type. Really cute with my capris and shorts. I did switch to tennis shoes one night since it was a bit chilly. Went right back to my airwalks the next day.

I also brought one of those blister sticks and rubbed it all over my potential blister areas each morning before putting my shoes on. It totally worked! I even re-applied it whenever I felt an uncomfortable place on my foot.

Whenever I wear regular shoes for more than hour or two with lots of walking, my feet, legs and especially my hips kill me. Not one pain other than just being tired the entire trip!

I know some people don't like the Airwalks brand and I was definitely hesitant, it turned out after wearing them for a month or so to make sure they would be good for Disney, I love them. Whenever I know I will be on my feet for a long time, I make sure I put these on. Hope that helps you.

Thanks, kkmcan, that does help!

Two questions though: What is a blister stick? Where do you get them? Sounds like one of those wonderful why-didn't-I-think-of-that inventions.

I have arthritis in my feet and I love my crocs! they are the first things I have been able to wear and not have the my poor feet complex after a few hours of walking at disneyland. granted I wear socks with mine, can't wear not wearing socks. . .

Crocs are a foamy shoe at best. I hate them. I wear a real shoe with a real arch support. KEENS or something to that effect. I can't even spend the day in them at Walmart.

down wiht crocs

I have my Disney Mickey Crocs sitting out for tomorrow when we leave. I have wide flat feet, so the wide roomy Crocs are like heaven for me. In June I wore my Nike's for the trip. By the second day I had all kinds of blisters and pain! By day three I broke down and bought the Crocs in DTD. They were wonderful! I wore them for the rest of the trip, and had no pain.

No way would I do a DL trip without them now!

I purchased a pair of Crocs recently, and haven't had any trouble with them so far. However, I don't do a lot of walking on a daily basis, so I'm not sure what they'd be like long-term.

My kids all have them, and love them. I plan on letting them wear them on our trip to Disney. I'm going to bring mine along too. I will probably bring a pair of running shoes as well just in case it gets chilly.

Am I the only one who HAS to wear socks with my Crocs? I have tried wearing them without socks and they aren't as comfortable. I am planning on wearing them on our upcoming trip but I plan on wearing capris and am concerned about how they are going to look with ankle socks.

And YES they are good walking shoes! :thumbsup2
