Crocs Caution!

Can you honestly name someone you know who juis not diabetic, overweight, has any history of foot problems, or is a child?st tried them on and loved the look and feel of them who

I find the neon green crocs nauseating and obnoxious. I can put up with the pink and red, I may not find them age appropriate, but I can at least stomach it. The neon green is just disgusting, I dont care if it's crocs, a backpack, a room, a chair I just hate that color. The black, blue and white are fine. The multi colored flip-flops are nice with the white and red/orange. and the high sandals look good too.

In case I didnt make this clear I am talking about the classic crocks and the tacky ones(the bootish ones that are 3 diffrent colors and camouflaged), not the wedgies, flip flops, high heels or sandals. Those dont look bad at all.

I bet you are one of those people who only have white walls in their house. LOL It is truly sad that you cannot embrace color in your life. You should give it a try.

I am a person who hates the way crocs look but I love UGG's. I even have them for my DD's 2 and 4. They are beyond fabulous. So to each his own. :flower3:

I do think the real croc problem is . . . people who wear . . . crocs and socks. They are the true offenders.

My foot Dr LOVES that people wear crocs- he says a few years down the road they will ALL be coming to him needing foot care due to wearing those things!:rotfl: :rotfl:

My mom's podiatrist thinks they are great. They allow her to walk without pain. Can't get any better then that.

I just bought new CROCS for me and my 2DDs and they arrived today. It is all I wear to Disney. Crocs have saved 2 vacations so far for my family. DH gets serious blisters at Disney. Don't know why but the only things that have saved us are CROCS. We leave in less than 6 weeks so we can used to them. My crocs were worn way down so I needed a new pair. I wear them DAILY! My feet actually hurt if I wear sneakers! Both girls' CROCS were wearing down as they wear them most of the time too. Got oldest DD Hannah Montana ones and younger DD black mickey caymans. I also ordered a pair of black crocs for older DD from REI yesterday to wear to school.

I have to admit that when I first saw CROCS I thought they were hideous but know I couldn't live without them.

I even bought my mom a pair for her b'day last year and she loves them.

DH wears his at Disney and around the house so his will last a while longer.:cheer2:

I actually usually wear ankle socks with my CROCS at Disney. I can take the socks off if they get wet. I do it both ways. Today, no socks as it's not super hot, when it's hot I prefer socks.

If I may change the subject slightly. I wore some of the Croc sandals while at disney and the were really comfortable but when i got home my heels hurt badly for about 10 days. I wore them again and stood at a baseball game on pavement for an hour and a half or so. Heel pain again. Anyone else have this experience? I hate it because they are really very comfortable.

I get heel pain after wearing sneakers now. I wear my crocs most of the time and when i switch to sneakers that's when they bother me.

I just want to point out again that I was not the one that posted that, even though it says "originally posted by joshsmom". It was actually the person I was arguing with that posted it. I am ALL FOR Crocs (or Uggs or any other footwear) for myself and anyone else that wants to wear them--with or without socks and in any colors that make them happy. I have too many other things to do on my vacation than worry about what color Crocs people are wearing. And I LOVE color everywhere--I have lots of color in my house. Black and white is not for me--bring on the palate!!!!

I'm all about live and let live and everyone having a good time!!

Thanks to the original poster for the heads up. I will make sure I have purchased a couple of new pair before my next trip.
It's amazing that a pair of shoes could cause so much emotion:upsidedow
I have worked in hospitals for a very long time. The first time I saw crocs were surgery staff taking orders for those that wanted to order some.
All the surgeons and surgery staff wore them because of the hours on their feet. It is amazing to be on your feet all day and your feet not hurt at the end of the day.
peace:hippie:

I would not suggest that anyone wear them without socks when you mow the grass. I got the biggest blister on the top of my foot. Otherwise I like Crocs, I have the kind that everyone else wears and I also have the Athens style, its like a flip flop. Those are so comfortable.

I was one of those people who swore they would never wear Crocs but 6 pairs later I have to say that I love them! They aren't for everyone but neither are stilettos :lmao:

As for wearing them in the rain, I didn't have any more problems with them than any other shoes last week during our visit to WDW. During TS Fay, we noticed lost of people slipping wearing all kinds of shoes. There are just some ground materials throughout WDW that are slippery when wet no matter what kind of shoes you are wearing (the exit to Haunted Mansion, entry to Maelstrom and the Frontierland Shooting Gallery steps were three of the worst!)

Sorry that your name is being attached to this argument! Don't worry - we're all friends here, and we know you're not attacking anyone. Quoting, cutting and pasting can get really convoluted. It's all good!

And as I said before, Crocs changed my life!

Hehe, well I've got no idea how that happened either, I just clicked "quote" and replied to a message. So I guess that means you and I agree :) :yay:
I'm not sure how my name got attributed to that post (the one above it blue). It was actually the other poster who was arguing with me that posted that. Hmm, interesting.

I love my Crocs and plan on wearing them my next trip. I have however, fallen or slipped many times in WDW wearing flip flops and sneakers. When it's wet watch your step!

Thank you, I feel better now!!

I remembered another reason why I DO wear socks with my Crocs--your feet can get SO filthy if you don't!!! (or maybe this just happens to my DS12). ;)

Hi Bob!!

Sounds like you have plantar fascitis, or heel spurs. I have had them multiple times. I STRONGLY recommend not going barefoot -EVER- even to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. They will likely break up on their own. Do you have a job where you sit more than stand? I first developed mine when I went into nursing, and started standing 12 hours at a stretch!! Do they hurt the most after you have been sitting for a short period of time and then stand up? After walking around a bit, does the pain diminish? If so, you got em! If it is unbearable, see a podiatrist, but they will likely tell you the Crocs have nothing to do with it.

I actually work as a nurse on an orthopedic floor, and a lot of our docs RECOMMEND Crocs!!

I work behind a computer part of the day but I am in and out of the office a great deal, I am newspaper photographer so I have a fairly active job. This was the first time I've experienced heel pain. i also photograph weddings which keeps me on my feet for hours at a time. I'm going to research plantar fascitis, thanks for the info.

I only read the first page, but I totally know what the original poster wrote! I nearly fell 3 times in Epcot on a rainy day. It was really slippery! Thank goodness I was pushing the stroller so I had something to balance myself back out, otherwise I would have went clear to the ground!

I wear my Croc capri flip flops almost 24/7 here in Florida. I even have a pair of the fancy dress Croc sandals for when I have to "dress up". The beginning of August I spent 15 hours @ MK in a pair of Croc flips & by the end of the day had no leg or foot pain. It was the most comfortable trip to WDW I've had in ages. I do plan on purchasing a new pair of flips this week for our trip to WDW in a few weeks. I want a pair of the multi-color strapped ones - just have to find my size!! That way I can have them broken in for the parks before going. I've had more issues with my feet and legs wearing my NB sneaks than I every have had with my crocs. I also have a pair of the wooly Mammoth ones that I wear to WDW and everywhere else with my jeans during the winter months here in FLA. I just love them!! :goodvibes

Like flip-flops, crocs are just not for walking all day. You should wear something that wont slip on wet pavement or come off easily (flip-flops). Wearing crocs around the house, for doing yard work, walking the dog, ect is fine. I would not use them to walk the parks though.

Also it is best not to make yourself stand out as a tourist. Orlando's crime rates are high and wearing crocs and fannypacks send off a red flag.
My wife and I wear them all day long (when not at work). And we're both locals.

I've noticed that the biggest detractors of crocs tend to be people who have never worn them. Have you?
Why do people wear Crocs? I'm guessing Uggs and Crocs must be insanely comfy, because people everywhere are wearing huge slippers boots and lime green plastic sandals instead of good looking comfortable shoes, lol.
So you haven't. Well, ok... but I think you shouldn't denigrate others for wearing crocs when you've A) never worn a pair in your life and B) have no intention of wearing them.
I know some people need shoes like them; diabetics, people who are overweight ect.
Medical professionals...
I think of them as working shoes.
No you don't. Remember, you said yourself:
Like flip-flops, crocs are just not for walking all day.
Your words, not mine. Seems to me youre trying to backpedal to save face.
I would also like to thank you for truely kind post on the subject. In most I got :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :scared1: or sarcastic comments avoiding the point. Thank you for answering me without the sarcasm.
Well, you know what they say about catching flies with honey or vinegar...
My foot Dr LOVES that people wear crocs- he says a few years down the road they will ALL be coming to him needing foot care due to wearing those things!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Next time you see your foot doctor ask him why, if Crocs are so bad for your feet, do doctors, nurses, and other health professionals swear by them?

BTW: You can see my new Crocs here.

I bought a pair if crocs for my 07 WDW trip. I wore them down so much that whenever I wore them after,I was tripping like a clutz.lol
