At a risk of sounding completely stupid, I have a Crocs question!:cutie:

Having read numerous threads on this site regarding Crocs, DH and I finally bought a pair each for our up coming trip.

H E L P!

Yes I agree that they are incredibly comfortable and light, however, we went for a walk today(checking them out and breaking them in!:lmao:).

Initially, we fell in love, however, as the walk went on, our feet got hotter and they started to rub. I'm thinking, this is a cold June walk along Southend seafront, not a scorching hot theme park day in Disney

Back home, they feel comfortable, but I'm rather nervous of having them on my feet all day & night!

Are we unusual, or is this common? If the latter, are there any tips out there, or will we be wearing our trainers again?:confused3

When I first wear my Crocs in Summer after not having worn them all winter, yes they do rub, always in the exact same place, but only ever once and then when I wear them again they are fine. Mine always rub on the top left of my foot, I have never had any problem otherwise with them.
What type do you have? I have Caymens.

I agree. The first few times that you wear them, when you haven't in a while, they do rub. I have the pink/purple kids Disney crocs, and last year was able to get some pink trainer socks, so for the first few days, I just wear trainer socks until my feet and shoes get used to each other! :goodvibes Thankfully, crocs and socks don't look half as daggy or sad as sandals and socks! :rotfl:

DP's rubbed at first,however mind never did.:lmao:
DP as the offroad crocs which are more thicker than my pink caymans..the girls have disney crocs and also had no problems..however they sometimes wear trainer socks with theirs.
I guess it's a matter of wearing them in and adjusting.:goodvibes

Thanks guys, I guess it's a case of keeping at it. We have just over 2 months to break them in! :lmao:

We both have Disney Crocs - mine pink, DH black.

I was a croc hater and now I have three pairs in different styles!! lol I have the common crocs - which didn't rub at all -, some flip flop crocs, which were uncomfortable between the toes at first but not now and the slipper/slip on kind of ones. The pretty ones I could wear on a night out lol. Very stylish. I feel daft wearing the clog lookalikes outside lol.

They rubbed the back of my foot after a day of wearing them. Gets sore but the more I wear them the less they rub. I guess my skin is hardening in that area lol. Hoping they'll all be fine for October lol. My kids both have a pair too and they're never complained of rubbing.

Top tip for you if the Crocs are rubbing. Put a tiny bit of dry oil (Johnsons Baby Oil) on the skin where they rub and it will solve the problem. Just be careful you don't get any on the bottom of your foot otherwise you leave the Crocs behind!

We had a couple of friends come out with us a couple of years back and his DW had a pair of crocs and swore by them as she used them for work (she's a nurse). But whilst at WDW she developed blisters and had to buy trainers. Possibly due to the temp or the fact WDW is a serious walk compared to a work enviroment.
I suppose it's just down to each individual.:thumbsup2

Ohh, I'll have to try that one when we're away. I bought the lilac Mary Janes on our last day last year, and while I've worn them around the house and they've been okay, I'm not sure what's going to happen in Florida! Baby Oil sounds much more comfortable than plasters, which I used last time and ended up getting another blister *** it just sweated off and rubbed elsewhere :rotfl:

I live in my crocs nearly all year but I must admit if it gets too hot my feet are anything but comfy in them. They only time my feet have got sore in crocs is when its been really hot, and that was in crocs that were well broken in.

In florida i wear the sandals that tie with velcro, I call them jesus sandals, not sure of the right name for them. They adjust at toes at the heel and across the foot with velcro. They are so comfy and I couldn't do florida without them.

I've got a couple of pairs of 'capri' sandals which I wear all day without any problems, just bought an all black pair to wear for work too - very comfortable :thumbsup2

I'm thinking of buying a pair of Beach / Caymen (they both look the same?) for next years hols, is it true that you should buy them a size bigger than your shoe size - I think I read this somewhere when Crocs first became popular :confused3

I buy a size bigger ....in my usual size my toes come so close to the front they rub.

I live in my Crocs when I'm not at work really. I got a pair before I went off to WDW last April and wore them in before I went. As first, they did feel kinda strange, but never really rubbed me.

I took them with me for the two week trip and never really had them off my feet, they were totally comfortable! They didn't rub or blister my feet either. The only days I didn't really wear them, was when we went off to SeaWorld and Universal, as we were doing the coasters and I didn't want to loose one :rotfl: I wore my trainers on those days!

I tried the ballet pump style and they rubbed me so much i gave hem away !

The Caymens/Beach don't tend to rub as they are worn much looser. I buy my normal size (W7) and if they are a little small I shove them in the tumble-dryer for 10 minutes and then stretch them, or submerge them in hot water and do the same thing. If you do it a couple of times they hold the new shape really well.

The ideal fit for Caymens/Beach is a 1/4" gap between your foot and the shoe.

They are made in different places and I found the Chinese ones to be smaller than the Mexicans ones, but the ones from Boulder Colorado were the largest.

OMG I am so sad...

I have the Mary Jane's and they are fine but I am going to be taking my Birkenstocks with me just in case they rub when my feet get hot. DS has the Caymans and they rub him when he plays football in them but no other time. To be on the safe side I am going to take trainers with socks for him just in case.

I bought the crocs cleo whilst in Florida and wore them the next day to Seaworld and never had any problems at all. In fact my feet never even felt as sore and tired as they normally do after a day in the parks. I have 2 other styles as well but the cleos are definitely the most comfy.

I bought a pair of the flip flops on my last trip and they turned out to be a real life saver. Really comfy and I didn't have any problems with the toe post.

They were great to wear in the rain as well as they dry off so quickly!

I definitely wanna join (majorly late) the Crocs craze!! Does anyone know if they still have the carts selling them in the parks?? I definitely rember seeing one on the way to HTOT at DHS in '07!!!

>Pete.
