I'm going to try to eat at home more. Can anyone recommend a good crockpot cookbook? I don't want to look recipes up online all the time

also, if anyone has any fav recipes, please share!

I made my own as I found, overall, there were only a few recipes we ended up liking out of each book.

I took a 1" three ring binder and bought plastic page protectors and tabs. Tabs are labeled, appetizers, soups, chicken, beef, pork, lamb, seafood, and dessert. Everytime I find a recipe we like I add it into the right section. I copy of paste the recipes into a word processing document, print them, put them in the page protector and then into the binder.

This came up again just a couple of weeks ago, and someone posted this link to an older thread:

and a couple more:

The last one is a sticky with an index to crockpot recipes in another thread that is referenced in the first line of the post.

Happy eating! I need to spend some time with all of these and figure out some new recipes.

My family likes roast in the crock pot. I just brown whatever is on sale, (my sister skips the browning), put it in the crock pot. Add one can of cream of mushroom soup with one half a packet of Lipton Onion Soup mix (the dry one). Cook on low all day.
It's great over noodles....or not if you don't have time to cook them!

I check a lot of cookbooks out of the library. If I really like them and will use a lot of the recipes I buy a copy. If not I just copy the one or two recipes I think we will eat.

I second checking out cookbooks from your local library.

I LOVE "Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Cookbook."

A favorite in our house is "Fiesta Chicken:

1 jar salsa (you choice on heat)
1 can sweet corn (drained)
1 can blackbeans (drained)
1-2 lb boneless chicken

Spray crockpot, put in chicken then add salsa, corn and blackbeans. Cook on med/low for about 4 hours (until chicken starts breaking apart). Serve over rice.

For a second meal, shred chicken, take a burrito size tortilla, sprinke a little shredded cheese on it, add the chicken and wrap up. If you want, put a little more cheese on top and throw in the oven to melt it. Instant burrito.
