Crock Pot-experts....HELP!

My DD has to bring grits to school on Wed. The teachers are working this week and the cheerleaders are doing breakfast for them. DD has to bring cheese grits.

I know how to make grits, but how will they do in a crock pot?

I was going to make the grits, then transfer to my crock pot (it has a warmer setting) Has anyone ever done this? Any tips? TIA!

Well, I've never made grits before, but every Thanksgiving, I make my mashed potatoes on the stove, then transfer them to my crock pot. I just make sure to put butter on the top so they don't dry out. Give them a stir and they are just fine. My pot has a warmer setting too. If grits are like mashed potatoes, I would think it would work just fine.
