Croc Warning

I love wearing my Crocs around the house. You know the story, they're so comfortable you forget you're wearing them. Well, when I leave the house for shopping, a night out, etc., I like to change to shoes that match my outfit. I do it right before I walk out the door.

Weellll, this morning I put on a nice wrap around dress and made a mental note to change my shoes before I left the house. My brown crocs and white socks (that I was wearing) just didn't go with my red and black dress.

I got the kids fed, cleaned, and dressed, then drove my oldest daughter to school. My next stop was Walgreens. It's here that I realize I'm wearing socks and Crocs with my pretty dress. OMG! I had lots of stops to make this morning and had to do them all with my Crocs...at least I could take the socks off. Walgreens with Crocs, Petco with Crocs, Kroger with Crocs, etc, etc, etc. At least my feet were happy. I made sure to make eye contact with everyone....I didn't want them looking down...

Too funny! My DD's choir teacher wears black crocs most of the time. They went to open for the symphony, all dressed up & right before they went on stage 1 of the kids noticed teacher was wearing her crocs with her formal. She about died of embarassment as she had not brought any other shoes. Oh well, the show went on, but they all tease her about it now.

If this ever happens again, just stand and walk proudly. Should anyone dare to comment just look at them like they have a snake on their head and say, "What? You haven't heard? This is all the rage in Paris. This style is the next 'in' thing. I can't believe you didn't know that". Then smile coyly and walk away . . . quickly.

I have two pairs of the Professionals. One in Pearl and the other Chocolate. I'm usually half way to work before I remember to check... do I have two of the same color shoes on?

I rather wear my crocs than my regular shoes. Even at the Race Track when the ole man races during the enduro races.

That's why I got basic black when I got my crocs. They go with almost everything. Granted, I can't make myself wear them with a dress (yet), but I wear them OUT all the time - with jeans and with capri pants.

This is one of the reasons I am usually barefoot (or in socks if it's cold) in the house.

My dh gave me a pair of very nice, thick-soled slippers last Christmas, but they felt so much like shoes, that I wore them out, more than once.
