CRO said room only codes coming

I just called on Monday night and made some changes to my ressie. (from AKL to WL -- hope I made the right decision). I have the Winter Dream Maker Package booked. I told the CRO I really wanted room only rates. He told my they should be out by mid-October and implyed that they will be very good.

I sure hope so. We really don't utilize the UPH passes that well. We enjoy taking it easy.

Would there be a cancellation fee for switching from Winter Dream Maker to room only? I have the Winter Dream Maker for Jan 24-31 but a great room only code on Poly Lagoon View Concierege would be a better fit since we will be spending 2 days off-site. I will cross my fingers and spinkle lots of pixie dust for a better rate and no cancellation/change fee.

That's great! I hope to get a good rate at the GF (hopefully, they'll offer the Lagoon $239 that they have for December!). Actually, a 40% discount at any of the deluxes would be good!

He said I could change without any problems or fees. I told him last year I had AKL conceirge at about 45% off rack and he said that the rates should be very good. I don't know what exactly he meant but I hope for 40-45%.

I am booked for early Feb. but he said the codes for Jan/Feb should be out soon. I don't know if he meant the whole month or just value season.

Tausha-you can cacel up to 45 days ahead.

I would be so excited with a room only or AP discount for Jan. I would change my LVC Poly room to 2 rooms for me, DH, DD(4 1/2), DS(turns 3 on trip), DD(1), and another adult friend. We could use the space and 2nd bathroom!

oh PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let them include the end of February!! I want Poly or GF lagoon in the WORST way, but no way can I afford $505 a night!!!

I too am anxiously awaiting those darn codes!! Last year it was the first week in December before discounts for Feb came out. I hope the CM is correct in saying that we should know by mid Oct. That'd be great!!

I'm in the same boat with all you late Feb. people! We've always gone in value season but must go later this year and it really pains me to think of paying rack rate at BWI! I have the miniscule AAA discount but need more help.

Which brings me to a question... if a pkg. deal comes out before a room only code and you book the pkg. can you switch back to the room only? If it is under the 45 day rule do you lose any money? I guess I can look it up on mousesavers or something but thought I'd ask my very knowledgeable DIS friends!

45 - 6 days out there is a $100 cancelation fee, 5 days or less there is a $200 cancelation fee but there is only a $50 change fee from 45 days. Don't know if changing to a room only code would be a change or cancelation.
