I have been SO frustrated today. We are going to my brother's house for Christmas and he lives in Mt. Dora, one hour north of WDW. To be that close and not do some of the Christmas stuff is just about killing us. So, we are leaving his house one day early to spend at WDW. We got reservations for the Candlelight Processional Dinner package and we needed one night in a hotel and a rental car. Trying to save money was my main objective. I found a hotel easily enough, but the car was another story. There are virtually no cars available for that one day at all. So, I decided to call WDW to see if I could get a room at the All-Stars. The first time I called I was quoted $169 plus tax. I called again later this afternoon and got a very helpful CM who was able to get me an annual passholder discount for that night reducing the cost down to $114 plus tax. She was great in attempting to apply every single code and discount available even telling me that I had a direct mail code still in the system. Unfortunately it expires on 12/19 but at least she tried.

I LOVE it when Disney magic happens. Her help saves me lots of money over an offsite hotel and a car. Granted, we are use to having a car at WDW but can and will make use of the busses on this trip.

Isn't it great how things work out when you talk to someone nice?

A few months ago, my room got cancelled. We were staying at CBR with a discount but really wanted POFQ. I kept trying to call and switch, but no rooms where available. I guess the CM hit the wrong biutton, and my room was gone. When I got the cancellation notice, I was so upset. The CRO CM could not get me back in CBR. I told her the whole story and she checked and Presto! a room at POFQ had opened up. Everything worked ouy in the end.

I really believe if you get a nice CM, they will help you all they can. They like that part of their job.

I am glad some pixie dust fell on you, also!

$169 for a value??? On Disney's website it lists as the most expensive Value as $124 and thats peak season in a preferred room. The $114 is for a standard during peak. I think you should call back and confirm the price again.

Just a thought

You are not receiving an AP discount on your room. As noted above, you are paying rack rate for your room at $114 during Holiday season.

Thanks for the assistance......and here I thought I was getting a good deal. I wonder why the first guy said $169???? I think I will call back and confirm.
