Saturday, 2nd June, 2007 - LAST DAY!!

I woke up very early (5:30am!!) and wrote postcards to send to family & friends - it was our last day and l was just getting round to getting most of them written. Quite some time later DS John woke up so l gave him a cereal bar and juice to keep him going to breakfast time, then we both got dressed and went to the games room in the Seqouia Lodge and the hotel shop when it opened then we went back to our room. It was after 8am by this time so l woke DH up to tell him he would have to keep an eye on DS John as shortly l was going to Disney Village before going to Donald's Desk at the side of the DLH to get our passes for the Cars race Rally/Crush's Coaster shareholder's event in WDS later in the day.

After getting our passes at Donald's Desk l walked back to Sequoia Lodge to finish packing our cases. We had chosen a 10am slot for breakfast, but decided not to bother going and just had some cereal bars and yogurt that l had kept in the minibar. We checked out of our room at 11am and put our suitcases in the hotel's left luggage then walked to WDS for a look round before the shareholder's preview of Cars Race Rally & Crush's Coaster.

DS John was too young for Crush's Coaster, so Louise & DH joined the queue (we were planning to do the baby switch thing so l could go on when they came off), so they queued & queued for that while l waited & waited!! They started queuing around 12:15pm, the sign said a 5 min wait, well by 1pm there was still no sign of them. and it was very warm waiting in the heat In the meantime DS John and l fed up from waiting looked at the small Toon Town area and l took photos of DS when he met Mr Incredible, Mrs Incredible and Mickey there and looked at other people on the Cars Race Rally attraction - there was also life size versions of Lightning McQueen, Mater, Luigi & Guido and also the Leaning tower of Tyres. Seeing this kept DS amused thank goodness. Another quarter of an hour or so later and still no sign of DH & Louise. Then luckily l came across Angela (disneyangel) & her Mum who told us that the Crush ride had broken down, they had given up queuing, but Louise & John were still in the queue. :rolleyes2

So DS & l decided to queue for Cars Race Rally on our own rather than wait any longer. The queue didn't look too long at first but once you were in the actual waiting area it seemed to move very slowly (there are only 12 ride cars and they can only take a max. of 4 people each), after about l think 20 mins or so, maybe more we got on the ride. :cool1: By this time l was thinking Louise & DH won't be able to find us and l've got the WDS shareholder's tour at 2pm (l was thinking l would probably have to miss it), but fortunately just a couple of minutes before we got on the ride l saw them standing in the area in front of the Cars attraction - l could see they were wondering where we had got to, so l had to wave my arms about and shout, eventually Louise spotted her Mum acting like a lunatic :rotfl: and they were able to take photos and video us on the Cars ride. l think some :wizard: had helped Louise spot us. As it turned out they had queued for nearly 1 1/2 hours and still didn't get on the ride. :sad2: :sad1: CMs eventually said it wouldn't be running again until 5pm!!

The Cars attraction was really good, just perfect for DS John. We sat in a red car as John likes Lightning McQueen, he was delighted. It did spin round quite fast, but l preferred it to the Tea Cups attraction in the other park (which we didn't have time to go on this trip, but l've been on it in the past). When DS & l came off ride. I headed for the WDS tour which started at 2pm and DH, Louise & DS joined the queue for the Cars ride, as apart from DS they hadn't been on it yet. So DS got to go on it twice. He's actually got a lot better with queueing since we were last at DLRP in March 2006.

The WDS tour was really good, lots of interesting facts & information. Angela & her Mum were there too. It was quite a large group of people this time so it was difficult to hear the guide. On Thursday when l did the main Disneyland Park guided tour there was only 6 of us in the tour group and it wasn't nearly as warm that day. It was very hot on the Saturday afternoon and l was starting to feel not so welll, at the time l thought it was just the heat but l was unwell for a few days when l got home, so looking back now it must have been then that l was starting to come down with something.

The tour which started at 2pm was to last 1hr, but by about 2:40pm the back l felt so hot and unwell l decided not to continue with the tour any longer, so l said bye to Angela & her Mum and went to Cafe des Casandeurs, bought a small tub of Ben & Jerry's choc Brownie ice-cream and sat in and ate it before setting off again.

Feeling a little bit revived (ice-cream must have medicinal properties  ) l went over to the Narnia chair near RnR Coaster, saw the raining umberella outside the umberella shop an watched the Lilo and Stitch Catch the Wave Party - which was great.

I then left WDS and walked to Plaza Gardens in the main park to meet up with DH, Louise & DS John for the 3:30pm character tea there. The character tea was really good - excellent selection of food, lots of Disney characters and IMHO good value for money. After leaving Plaza Gardens l took a final photo of the Castle, then we walked back down part of Main St & through Liberty Arcade.

We got back to the hotel for 6:30pm, collected our suitcases from the hotel's left luggage and were collected as arranged by BS Transports at 7pm for our transfer to Beauvais Airport, arrived there about 8:30pm for our 10:50pm Ryanair flight, which actually left early and we arrived 30 mins ahead of schedule at Prestwick Airport, where my brother met us to take us home. We were all pretty tired but had had a great 4 days at DLRP.

Thanks for reading my trip report.

Lovely last day :wizard: sorry you were unwell, hope you've fully recovered now. :flower3:

Fantastic report. Great to hear about the distances from Hotel as we are staying there too. After reading about the queues for breakfast I am definately going to book GMF. :)
