stayed: Sequoia Lodge (Montana room)

We had some friends going with their families to DLRP at the same time including Angela (disneyangel), Kaye (Bonhoga), Hazel (Rosie) so from time to time during our 4 days we met up with them.

Wednesday 30th May 2007

DH & l got up approx 3:30am, followed shortly after by Louise, waited a bit before waking DS John (had put him to bed the night before in his travelling clothes, so it was just a case of lift him and go. My brother arrived at 4:20am on the dot just as we had asked him, to take us to Prestwick airport for our 6:40am flight to Beauvais, which is only about 20 mins drive from our house. Checked in at airport (hardly any queue) and headed for departure lounge where we had breakfast and looked round the shops. The time passed quickly and soon it was time for our flight to board. DS John loved being on the plane (since we got back he keeps saying "plane - that was good fun") and he enjoyed watching another plane getting refueled before we took off. Our flight arrived at Beauvais on time shortly after 9am and after collecting our luggage we were met by the driver from BS Transports for our transfer to DLRP.

We arrived at Sequoia Lodge before 11am, queued at reception for our park passes etc and dropped off our cases at the hotel's left luggage, then headed for Disneyland Park. I could hardly believe we were actually at DLRP. We had a quick look at our paving stone at Fantasia Gardens in front of DLH before heading to Salon Mickey where to my surprise and delight l met Kaye & some of her family for the first time. Hazel & her family were there too and it was lovely to meet them again.

Salon Mickey closed at 12 o'clock so we went into the park (after having our passes validated by the CM at Salon Mickey). We headed to Frontierland for the 12:45pm Tarzan Encounter show at the Chaparral Theatre. The show was 25 mins or so long and was very good and it certainly held DS John's attention. Next we went to Pizzeria Bella Notte for lunch.

After lunch we went on Le Carrousel de Lancelot and Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs (l find this ride dwells a bit too much on the witch and could do with more about the dwarfs IMHO). We walked back through the Castle and saw the Character Express train with characters as it made it's way down Main St. We got back to Sequoia Lodge by 4pm, collected our luggage & got our room key and that's when we first realised how spread out SL was and how easy it was to get lost in it & it was a longgggg walk from the lift to our room.

Soon it was time to get ready to go out again for dinner at the Blue Lagoon. On the way over to Adventureland we collected our EMH wristbands from the area near Main St station. Arrived at Blue Lagoon, it is a really nice setting for a meal and our food was lovely too.

After leaving the Blue Lagoon the 4 of us went on POTC (our first time this trip) with Hazel & her family - it was great going on it during EMH, l had only been on it during the day before. DH & DS John went back to the hotel and Louise & l along with Hazel & family went on BTM, which was the first time l had been on it in the evening too. The park closed at 9pm, l so wished it had been open an hour or two more than that. We walked back through the park to Disney Village where Louise and l did some shopping, got back to Sequoia Lodge shopped some more in the shop there. Back to hotel room. End of day 1.

thanks for sharing day 1 looking forward to reading some more:thumbsup2

Glad you liked the Blue Lagoon - sounds like a fun first day.

The picture of Louise 'in a spin' is absolutely fantastic. Whoever took that needs a pat on the back - 'capturing the moment' at its best.

Brilliant report! I agree with Steve, that photo of Louise twirling in The Village is absolutely amazing - sometimes I wish I sould just release the inhibitions and do that with my bags of Disney shopping! It certainly gives you a great feeling just looking at that photo!
