I read that Critter Country is due to re-open on 8th March - is that correct? Unfortunately this will be 2 days too late for us! What exactly will we be missing while Critter Country is closed? I understand Splash Mountain will still be down even when it's re-opened. What else is there?

I only ask as I *may* be able to organise a couple of hours at DLR on our very last day in the US, but I don't want to do all the organising (and it would take a lot of organising) for this to happen, if it's not going to be worth it.

The other things in critter country besides Splash are the Winnie the Pooh ride (pretty meh in my opinion), Pooh's Corner candy/souvenir shop, and the hungry bear restaurant. The Winnie the Pooh characters also do meet and greets in critter country, but I think they just have them somewhere else for now. In my opinion, not worth a significant hassle.

You are not missing much at all... Without Splash, Critter Country is literally a dead end! ;)

Sounds like I probably won't bother trying to re-arrange our last day then... I just hope I get to see some Pooh characters while I'm there! Wish they had a Pooh character brekky like Crystal Palace so I could make sure I'd see them :)

We've seen Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore at the Minnie and Friends breakfast every time we have gone..

Great! We're doing the Minnie & Friends brekky :) Any chance of seeing Piglet around at all? He's my favourite.

Well, the Pooh's corner has the best baked goods in the Park. And a terrific selection of handmade candy (Tigger Tails, etc.)

Also, the canoe ride entrance is back there. If you have never done the canoes, you must!! It is one of my absolute favorite things to do.

Other than that, the the few things already mentioned, not much else.

This will be my first time to DLR, so no, I haven't done the canoes lol! Does that mean we won't be able to do them if Critter Country is closed? Sounds like something BF would enjoy too.

Critter Country / No Splash.....don't bother. Candy shop is great but there is a good one on mainstreet too. As far as canoes go I really can't say, we have been to Disney now 16 times in 10 years and I still have never done them (who wants to work on vacation):confused3, maybe this summer I will try just to make sure I am not missing anything.;)

Canoes are fun once in a while. Let's see ... I did them once at age 9, and once at age 59. Give me a nudge when I'm 109 :lmao:

Check at City Hall when you enter DL and ask about Piglet. If he's going to be out that day, then they will be able to give you a time/place.

Thanks for the laugh, Bob!:rotfl:

I actually like the Pooh ride. It's cute. Splash only if it's hot.
Does anyone know what they are doing back there that the entire area is closed for so long?

How accurate do you think the Disney website is at this point in regards to Critter Country? We are going tomorrow (Disney calendar says Pooh is closed) and Thursday (calendar says Pooh is open). We are hoping this is accurate, as I would love to take my little guy on Pooh...does anyone have any inside info?

Thanks!

The calendar can change, but two days out it should be accurate.
