DIS'ers-

Ok, here’s the deal. I’m normally lazy by nature, but when it comes to a Disney vacation, I can’t be stopped. I have been tirelessly planning for the last couple of months to make sure that everything is perfect for my trip in Sept. My girlfriend and I will be going by ourselves. No kids (don’t have any), No parents, No pets, No friends. It’s just a week with her and I. We are both in our mid-twenties (ok, I’m in my late twenties) and she has never been to WDW before. I fully anticipate her to have the time of her life. I know I will. We will be there from Sept 22-28.

I sketched out a rough plan of action. Jill would kill me if I planned our trip down to the second. Not so much because of the planning, but the constant nagging of “we need to be at this point NOW, and we’re not ever CLOSE!!” So, I just posted a rough outline if you will.

I would really like to get a water park in at some point during the week but I just can’t find the time right now. The hours are a lot shorter in the parks in Sept. Once the schedules are released I may be able to work something out. The plan is tight right now, but we’re still youthful and we (read as I) don’t have a problem getting up EARLY and going all day long.

I chose AK on Sunday because I didn’t want to do Universal both Sat. and Sunday. I have a feeling that IOA gets pretty crowded on the weekend. I would rather have a more crowded day at AK than IOA. Please feel free to critique, make comments, or make fun of my itinerary.

I recently read on another thread that Rock and Roll Roller Coaster and Thunder Mountain may be closed for renovations while we are there. If that happens, you will hear the scream from Orlando. I can't imagine that they would close 2 coasters at the same time, but who knows. As long as Mission Space is open sometime during our trip I will be ok with some other closings.

Monday: Arrive at 2:00 at MCO. Pick up car and check in to Coronado Springs Resort. Probably head to Downtown Disney and DisneyQuest. Eat at Wolfgang Puck Café for dinner. Pleasure Island that night for some drinks.

Tuesday: Extra Magic hour at MGM. Probably stay at MGM until we’ve done it all, TWICE! Lunch: Brown Derby. Dinner at Fulton’s in DD. Night swim back at CSR.

Wednesday: Extra Magic Hour at Epcot. Spend the day at hope and pray that my girlfriend has gotten me the Living Seas Scuba Dive for my birthday. Dinner at California Grille.

Thursday: Extra Magic Hour at Magic Kingdom. MK all day. Dinner at Schula’s.

Friday: Universal Studios Islands of Adventure all day. Dinner ?? Night swimming at CSR.

Saturday: Universal Studios/Pleasure Island Dinner??

Sunday: Animal Kingdom. I have a feeling that we’re going to be able to do AK in less than a full day, so we’ll probably go back to the other parks and do some of the rides that we liked for a 2nd or 3rd time. Boma for dinner.

Monday: Leave early a.m. to go back to Austin.

Man, it sounds like a great trip. But as tireless as you think you are you will probably not be able to go so many days waking up early for Early Magic Hour AND enjoying the nightlife the night before.

But here are some things that I noticed.

Why are you dining at the California Grill on your Epcot day and going to Shula's on your Magic Kingdom day? You can walk to California Grill (or ride the monorail) from MK. You can walk (or take the romantic boat launches that leave by France behind Epcot) to Shula's from Epcot. Granted, you might want to go back to your hotel and dress up for both of these eateries, but if by any chance you were planning on going straight from the park to these places, flip them around. It makes more sense that way. After Shula's you can walk over to the Boardwalk area which is a fun night alternative to DD.

Saturday at USF? AK at Sunday? I'd flip those around too. Saturday is the busiest day for just about any park and AK is the easiest to do in a crowd.

Friday you're at IOA but you don't have dining plans? If you like fine dining (a la California Grill and Shula's) then I think Mythos at IOA is a great choice. The best in-park restaurant in Orlando in my opinion. And you can also have dinner at Emeril's right outside the park.

As far as the waterparks go they aren't too busy in late September, especially on any day but Saturday. If you find you're done with a park early it might be worth checking out if only for the last 2-3 hours of the operating day. Blizzard Beach has the best selection of slides but Typhoon Lagoon is right next to your hotel (can't walk there I think, but it's a shorter bus ride).

It's people like you who are going to make my trip easier. Thanks for input.

We're definitely going to want to go home and change before we go out to eat. I'm really looking forward to some of the nicer restaraunts while we're there and I'd rather not show up in cargo shorts and a T-shirt.

I'm definitely going to swap the weekend around though and go to AK on Sat.

I know good and well that the extra magic hour will be out the window after the 1st evening at Pleasure Island, but it looks good on paper. :)

More than anything, I just want to have a fantastic time which should be incredibly easy with my company and WDW.

Didn't you plan on attending Fantasmic that evening?...Maybe get the Dinner package and then head back for a night swim .

You are right in your planning for AK...you can do AK in the morning and can be done by early afternoon...later on after a rest...Maybe a dinner at Downtown Disney before or after La Nouba !

As for USF/IOA...We ALWAYS do those parks on the weekends to avoid the mad rushes at WDW...plus you get longer hours on the weekends to enjoy CityWalk and the rides.

Have Fun!

If you want to go to a Waterpark, why not just skip the Early Magic Hour at EPCOT. That way you can sleep in(who doesn't like that) and then head to a waterpark when it opens;hang out then come back to the hotel and do EPCOT after lunch...WS is open later so you have that benefit as well. You can add more EPCOT later in the week in the evenings.....since WS is only open til 9, you still have the rest of those evenings to party if you so desire.

Some random thoughts...have you thought about visiting the Boardwalk? ESPN Club is always nice and at Jellyrolls, thursday has been CM night and seems to be hoppin with fun.
