Super busy summer day plan, what do you think? It is for 4 adults, 1 teen and an 8 year old. He is desperate to ride the "big kid" rides and finally tall enough!

*Arrive HS parking lot by 8:10
*arrive to the HS entrance by 8:20
*park opens 9am and head straight to TSM and ride it standby
*Head to RNC (ride 2-3 times using single riders) and maybe 1 FP
*TOT and ride it once standby and one with FP
*Star Tours with the 3rd FP, while in line try to get a FP of any variety over at Epcot
*maybe watch Muppet 3D if we are feeling hot and humid (not really into watching many shows and my 8 year old boy definitely is not into Frozen sing along!)
*take the leisurely boat ride to Epcot
*it is the last day for the International Flower and Garden Festival so spend lots of time lingering and eating as I walk along. Do not make reservations for restaurants at all. Should I plan a different type of air conditioned break? Show?
*Try to squeeze in Spaceship Earth, Journey to Imagination, The Seas with Nemo, and Test Track single riders.
*By late afternoon try to get a FP for Fantasmic.

Recognize that Frozen is not likely to happen, but will try anyway as well as Soarin. Mission Space makes us feel sick so skip that.

Then, towards the end of the day boat ride back to MGM and wander around a bit before Fantasmic/Fireworks.

What do you think? Should I see the Epcot show instead?

That's a really packed day. Good thinking taking the boat to Epcot and back to HS. That'll save your feet a little. But still, you guys will be really tired by the end of the night. Sometimes, it's not just the number of steps, but also the waiting in line.

You're not likely to see that kind of ride efficiency at HS in the morning. When we were there in March, we got to the HS entrance at 8:15, were among the first to ride TSM, and by the time we made it to RnR, there was a 45 minute wait. The Single Rider line at RnR is not that great, unfortunately. I'm not sure when you were hoping to leave HS by, but you'll likely need to relinquish any idea of doing very many repeat rides. While we were waiting for RnR, the line for ToT shot up to 100 minutes. Because there are so few attractions at HS (before Toy Story Land opens, anyway), those lines build super fast.

Your FP+ selections sound good, though.

You can check out the American Adventure in World Showcase if you need an air-conditioned break. (Voices of Liberty is great, too.) Or just watch the French film if you need to get off your feet.

I'm not sure about the probability of grabbing a FP+ for Fantasmic that late. It won't save you too much time, anyway. Guests should arrive 45-60 minutes before the start of Fantasmic to find a seat. A FP+ saves you about 15 minutes, maybe.

I'd probably stay and watch IllumiNations just out of exhaustion, but the 8-year-old will likely prefer Fantasmic.

I'm not familiar with the single rider line. Just a question? Will that mean your 8 year old wont be sitting next to someone in your party? Wasnt sure if thats an issue or if that works well for everyone.

My 8 year old can sit on his own. I was hoping to ride it once using a fastpass so he knows the ride, but he is a daredevil and goes on the upside rides out in Ca happily. He likes to rides more intense rides than I do, so I sometimes wait in the line with him, he rides and I wait for him to get off.

Maybe I should skip TSM and just go straight to RNR and TOT since those are the ones closer by. Am going end of May so not sure what the deal with TSM will be then... Not willing to wait in those ridiculous wait times.

After those few rides were are leaving the park and heading to Epcot. I just didn't think I could spend a whole day there either, not enough for us to do in either park, but combined it should work. I know that isn't the case for many, but my 8 year old doesn't care about shows or meeting characters. He will likely run through the English gardens and if we are lucky enough hit TT, Soarin. I want them to see Spaceship Earth, one of my favs.

HS rides tend to get busy pretty early since there are not too too many. If you know you want to ride ToT and RnR multiple times you should go there first. If you're content riding them just with FP+ and want to go on Toy Story then rope drop Toy Story. You may be able to rope drop Toy Story and still be able to get on RnR (I wouldn't use the single rider line) or ToT with a relatively short wait right after (30 minutes if you're lucky)...but that will just depend on crowds so you'd be taking that chance.

If you are going before Toy Story Land opens then I don’t think the plan is doable. People either head to RnR or TSM first thing and the lines build very quickly. You might be able to rope drop 1, then get in line right away to ToT without too long of a wait, but 30 minutes after the park opens you normally see more than an hour waits for TSM and RnR. As others have mentioned single rider line for RnR may or may not be shorter than standby.

Maybe do Epcot first, then head over to Studios for evening. A lot of people consider Studios a half day park and just go for the morning.

Another option to cool off in EP, and something I THINK your 8 yr old will enjoy, is the 4-D Pixar Short Films in the Imagination Pavilion. They are funny and done very well.
